나이가 들수록 남과 비교하는 게 얼마나 쉬운지 깨닫게 됩니다. 다른 사람의 성공을 내 실패의 징표로 여기고, 그들의 인생에서 가장 좋았던 순간들만 보면서 마치 나에게는 문제가 있는 것처럼 착각하는 거죠. 완벽해 보이는 가족, 모든 걸 다 아는 것처럼 보이는 사람들로 가득한 세상에 빠져드는 게 얼마나 쉬운지 알게 됩니다. 하지만 사실 그 누구도 인생을 완벽하게 살고 있는 건 아니죠. 정말입니다. 온라인 세상에서 길을 잃기 쉽습니다. 다른 사람들의 완벽해 보이는 모습과 자신의 불완전함을 비교하기 쉽고, "저 사람이 가진 걸 가지면 행복해질 거야"라고 생각하기도 쉽습니다. 하지만 한 발짝 물러나서, 다른 사람들을 바라보는 장밋빛 안경을 벗고, 현실은 복잡하고 불완전하다는 사실을 깨닫는 건 훨씬 어렵습니다. ���실은 힘들고 고통스럽기도 하죠. 온라인에서 보는 모습이 현실이 아닙니다. 카메라 렌즈 뒤에서 벌어지는 일들이 현실입니다. 모든 사람은 무언가를 위해 싸우고 있습니다. 우리 모두에게는 좋은 날도 있고 나쁜 날도 있습니다. 다만 나쁜 날을 잘 드러내지 않을 뿐이죠. 우리의 약점이나 상처는 잘 보이지 않습니다. 다음에 온라인에서 누군가와 자신을 비교할 때, "저 사람이 가진 걸 나도 가졌으면 좋겠다"라고 생각할 때, 이 사실을 기억하세요. 다른 사람의 삶이 없어도 충분히 행복할 수 있습니다. 당신이 스스로 만들어낸 삶 속에서 행복을 찾는 법을 배우면 됩니다.

@NBCOlympicsHelp LOVE online live feeds, BUT sound mixer needs to lower field cameras' audio levels, raise commentator audio (especially for women's triathlon). Cam audio from motorcycle, helicopter, & on-location announcer music/hype drowning out commentators.

@julierwright I give students a choice to use a pic of their work when sharing in videos for online learning. Don't have to be on camera, I just need to hear their voice. Best to see faces on Zoom, but anxious student can set pic for vid tile, use reaction hand raise OFTEN. Build up courage.

What does a mask do? Blocks respiratory droplets coming from your mouth and throat.

Two simple demos:

First, I sneezed, sang, talked & coughed toward an agar culture plate with or without a mask. Bacteria colonies show where droplets landed. A mask blocks virtually all of them.

YES!! We HAVE to take action to stop this pandemic from going on for years. All he had to do was follow directions. If my 6 year old students can wear a mask and go to school, you can don a mask and follow state directions for your business.

Amazing mom has been making me face masks since closure, and this is 1st clear panel mask. It's GREAT! Tight fit, breathes well (20 min. talk so far). Fogs on exhales, BUT: 1)Can still see mouth. 2) Inhale takes fog away. Adding filters & testing anti-foggers next. #supermom

School may be out, but the tech committee is working hard to prepare for the new world of teaching for the new school year. Just one of the many program comparisons we've been working hard on. Some people think teachers have 2 months of vacation, but boy are they wrong.

The last day of school is a Camping Day, with 3 tents of learning activities, s'more snacks in front of a campfire, and a memory slideshow while we party. This year we had to go digital, so students created forts and we Zoom camped our party. #makeitwork #DistanceLearning2020
