We shelve fiction in our circulating collections by the author's last name, but an anthology with multiple authors would be shelved by the first word in the title that is not a, an, or the. "A Short Hike" would be shelved under S not A.
Here's an example from our catalog. The Book of Dragons: An Anthology is shelved under B not T as you can see from the call number SCI FI B.
