Right now, someone is asking AI for a product like yours. Is it saying your name? We check what ChatGPT and Gemini say about you, then hand you the fixes.
Customers ask ChatGPT who to hire. Whoever it names gets the call.
We asked it for a Phoenix dentist, plumber and bookkeeper, 3 times each. It named 19 different businesses. Lots of open seats.
The specifics got repeated: prices, review scores, license numbers.

Shopify owners, quick test: ask ChatGPT "best [what you sell] under $50" with search on.
Did it name your store? Did it cite a product page, a review roundup, or Reddit?
Curious what people are seeing. Reply with your category.

Good news if you're not the biggest name in town: ChatGPT's pick isn't locked in.
We asked it for a Phoenix dentist 3 times, web search on. It recommended 6 different practices.
There's room for you. A clear, specific website earns the spot.

2. Product or LocalBusiness: what you sell, real prices, address and hours if you're local.
Then run it through Google's Rich Results Test.
This week I launched AskRankly. I'll share the real numbers here as they come in, including the boring ones.
Question for founders: has a customer ever told you they found you by asking ChatGPT? What did they ask?
If the only page comparing you to your competitor was written by your competitor, guess whose framing the AI repeats.
Write the honest "you vs them" page yourself. Include where they're better. That's what makes it credible to people and to models.
Most AI visibility tools are monthly dashboards. Choose one if you want daily tracking.

More than 1.2 billion people use ChatGPT every week (OpenAI, Oct 7 2026). Some of them are asking for what you sell.

Two questions people mix up:
1. Does ChatGPT know you from memory? (training data, slow to change)
2. Does it find you when it searches the web? (live, changes as the web does)
New brands usually lose #1. #2 is where your work pays off first.
@t_p_cameron Each search pulls fresh sources, so the shortlist shifts run to run. The businesses that show up most have clear, quotable sites: services, area, prices. That's the opening: run it a few times and see who keeps getting named. That's what we measure, plus the fixes.
llms.txt is cheap insurance, not a magic switch.
It's a plain markdown file at /llms.txt on your domain: one line on what you do and who it's for, then links to the 5-10 pages that matter most.
Twenty minutes. Write it like you're briefing a new hire.
