Welcome to Sagetech.
Preparing for JAMB, Post-UTME or university admission? You're in the right place.
We'll share useful information on course requirements, subject combinations, university choices and admission updates.
From aspiration to admission.
@AskSagetech
JAMB CAPS is back online after a short disruption. It was restored on Sunday 27 September.
Schools have been told to speed up 2026/2027 admission processing.
If you have an offer, accept it on CAPS.
If you were awaiting results, upload or verify them now that the 2026 NECO SSCE results are out.
Admission close dates remain: Public universities: 31 October 2026 Private universities: 30 November 2026 Other tertiary institutions: 31 December 2026
National minimum scores remain 150 for universities and colleges of nursing, and 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of agriculture, colleges of education, and IEIs. Minimum age remains 16.

CAPS is opening again this evening, 27 September.
It had been down since Thursday. JAMB has not put out a “we’re back” post. We are going by the portal.
Log in yourself. If Access My CAPS loads, read the status. Recommended is still not an offer. Do not send ACCEPT until the page says you have been offered admission.

This is not the same as a current-year change of course.
After regularisation, the course on your JAMB record is usually what was captured during that process. Fixing it later is done at the JAMB State Office with your ND certificate and a letter from the polytechnic confirming the course you actually graduated with.
Take those documents back to the same JAMB office that handled the regularisation and ask for correction of the regularised record. If they say the school must write, get the polytechnic to issue the confirmation letter first.
PTC = Professional Test Centre
PRC = Professional Registration Centre
These are JAMB’s official centres (often at JAMB State Offices or dedicated JAMB facilities), not every accredited CBT centre.
JAMB said the SIM/email change is only at designated PTC/PRC centres and State Offices where it applies. Regular private CBT centres are not automatically authorised for that service.
Best step: confirm the exact approved location with your JAMB State Office or check the official centres list before paying anywhere.
There are two ways to accept right now. From the SIM you registered with JAMB, send your registration number, a space, then ACCEPT in capital letters to 55019 or 66019. Or go to an accredited JAMB CBT centre and accept with your thumbprint. If neither works, check that CAPS actually shows an offer first. There is nothing to accept until that offer is there.
What this is not: it does not skip the JAMB centre, biometrics, or the one-time rule. It only covers the affidavit JAMB asked you to scan.
If the officer will not take the e-copy, get a physical oath from a Commissioner for Oaths and use that instead. Do not pay anyone who says they can “do the affidavit and the JAMB update” for you in one unofficial bundle.

JAMB’s SIM or email change needs a court affidavit. They did not name which court.
Federal High Court now issues affidavits on its own portal, https://t.co/T35XCWrlD4. You apply there, pay the court fee on that site, and download the sworn copy when it is ready. That is a court document, not a cafe printout.
JAMB has not published that this format will be accepted at every PTC or PRC. Take the file and the verification details to the JAMB centre and ask them to confirm before you pay JAMB’s own fee.
JAMB only asked for a duly executed court affidavit, scanned for upload. They did not name the court. Federal High Court now issues affidavits through https://t.co/T35XCWrlD4, which is the court’s own system, not a cafe printout. That is one way to get a court affidavit without standing in a registry. It is not a JAMB-published instruction, so take the downloaded copy and the verification details to the PTC, PRC or State Office and confirm they will accept that format before you pay the JAMB fee.
A PTC or PRC is a JAMB-owned centre, not a regular private CBT cafe. JAMB’s post says the SIM or email change is only at those designated PTC/PRC centres, plus State Offices where that applies. Confirm the exact office with your State Office before you pay at a neighbourhood centre.
JAMB’s own post limits this to designated JAMB CBT centres listed as PTC or PRC, plus State Offices where that applies. That is not the same as any private CBT cafe. Pay the fee on e-Facility first, then take the new number or email and a scanned court affidavit to one of those JAMB-owned points. The service is one use only
Admission in Progress” means the school has started work on your file. It is not an offer and it is not a rejection. Open CAPS and look for Accept / Reject only if an offer is already there. JAMB’s own reply on 11 Sept said 30 September applies to people who already have an offer and have not responded.
Source: JAMB's official graphic, 21 Sept. It names only JAMB's own PTCs, PRCs and State Offices. No fee or centre list is given, so check the fee on e-Facility and confirm your centre with your State Office. Don't pay anyone offering to do this for you.
From 21 Sept, JAMB lets candidates who've lost their registered SIM or email change it. Pay on e-Facility, scan a court affidavit, then go to a JAMB-owned centre: a PTC, a PRC or a JAMB State Office. Not a private CBT centre. One use only, so check the new details.
Source: JAMB's official graphic, 21 Sept. It doesn't state the fee, so read the amount on e-Facility before you pay. JAMB also says to avoid unauthorised persons or channels, so don't pay anyone offering to do this for you.
Source: an NBTE circular dated 9 Sept, signed by exec secretary Prof Idris Bugaje, reported today by Tribune, Blueprint and Leadership. Not yet on https://t.co/skw7msmM17 or https://t.co/JYm6DEkgxN directly, and unclear if this covers only new intake or students already admitted too.
NBTE has directed JAMB to now handle all HND admissions in polytechnics, nursing and health tech colleges, not each school on its own, from this session. Nothing to do yet if you're chasing HND: JAMB hasn't opened or explained the process, so don't pay anyone to fast-track it.
Source: NAN, republished by Leadership, TheSun and THISDAY, quoting Aina at the event. The committee, chaired by Prof Boniface Nworgu, has four weeks for a first framework. There's no start date yet, and nothing to sign up for or pay for at this stage.
JAMB's registrar, Segun Aina, calls the UTME's subject-only format outdated after 30 years unchanged. He wants it to also test reasoning and problem-solving, since WAEC and NECO already cover subject knowledge. He said this inaugurating a reform committee in Abuja on 16 Sept.
Here's the part I want to be straight about. JAMB's spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said publicly that any offer from 2021 to date that's still undecided after September 30 gets automatically converted to "Not Admitted." I'm getting that from his statement as reported by several newspapers this week, not from something I pulled off https://t.co/skw7msmM17 myself today. I could not find it posted on JAMB's own site as of this morning. Treat the date as very likely correct, but check your own CAPS screen rather than taking my word for the exact deadline.
A pending offer from three years ago can still turn into a real seat. It stops being one the day the system decides you didn't want it.
JAMB just moved the deadline on old pending admissions, and if you have an offer sitting untouched from anytime between 2021 and now, this affects you.
The window to accept or reject those old offers on CAPS was supposed to close August 31. It's been pushed to September 30. That's not more time to think it over, it's the last time it gets pushed.
Here's what to do. Log into your JAMB profile, go to CAPS, and check if you have any offer still marked pending from a past admission cycle. If you already accepted or rejected it, you're done, nothing here applies to you. If it's still sitting there, accept it or reject it now. There's no third option, and no one else can do it for you.
