@PeterLBlock Thank you! I want everyone to make money. I'm not asking her to work for free, but now her client is missing a good deal because she's not budging. They're acting as gatekeepers rather than servicing clients.
How many investors trust a realtor to find you deals? Just talked to a realtor that refused to present an off-market property to her client because she wasn't making "enough" (over $15K). What are your thoughts?
@HeyWilliamSalas You can always tell the seasoned investors by the questions they ask. I find the seller's backtracking amusing though. I wish I would've started a log on all the things they've told me. I could write a book!
@heIpfullandlord It's so glamorized and often only the rewards are shared publicly. People see the benefits, but they don't see that I also work on weekends, on holidays, on vacations (and 2 hours after my c-section). It's hard work!
@wbridgefa @scovingtoniii It was extremely dark! It unraveled after I contracted it, and by that time I had so much time already invested in it. I kept pushing through. It took over a year to close. I haven't done any divorce sales since then.
@wbridgefa @scovingtoniii I bought a house from a couple getting divorced. It was messy, but the judge forced them to sell since they couldn't agree on anything. It was court ordered neither could keep it or buy the other one out.
@scovingtoniii I've been hearing this a lot, too. Human behavior will always be around. They will need to sell eventually, probate situations, the become a landlord and the tenants are awful, deferred maintenance. There are so many scenarios to say yes.
@HeyWilliamSalas Also ask the right questions with fire houses.
Them: It was in a small fire
Me: *goes to see it and it's an ash pile of where a house used to be*
Them:๐
Me: Best I can do is $15K
Them: IT'S SALVAGABLE!!

@HeyWilliamSalas My favorite is when sellers tell me they're in the middle of renovations. I get there and it's barely in the demo stage, down to the studs, no wiring or plumbing, only subfloors ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธYou learn to ask the right questions.
@GrowAverageJoe @SHHouses I tell people all the time, trade is the way to go! I went to college and ask me how often I use my degree. I paid a lot of money for a piece of paper that sits in a drawer. I make more with my certifications.
@SHHouses Definitely not. I want to encourage higher learning, but that can also be in the form of a trade not necessarily a college degree. I also want to teach them about investing and being smart with what they have.
