Mr. Kapoor,
You seem to have forgotten one very simple fact: Nobody is obligated to save your business, and nobody owes financial support to someone whose public statements and behaviour have caused so much outrage.
You and your wife had already spoken publicly about closing your restaurant. Yet here you are again, putting on another dramatic performance, talking about unpaid rent, threats of legal action, negative Google reviews, and desperately asking the public to book tables to rescue your business.
How remarkably convenient!
Do you genuinely believe people have such short memories? Or are you counting on controversy to magically transform you from a man known for provocative statements into a helpless victim deserving public sympathy and financial support?
Let me remind you of that video in which you addressed Netanyahu and the Israeli military, asking why a particular building in Gaza was still standing.
Would seeing another building reduced to rubble have brought you satisfaction? Did you stop for even a moment to consider that such buildings might shelter innocent families and children who have absolutely nothing to do with this war?
And now you expect people to worry about the walls of your restaurant when you publicly questioned why the walls of a building in Gaza had not been destroyed?
You want the world to mourn the possible loss of your restaurant while your own words questioned why another building in a devastated war zone had been left standing.
Do you seriously not see the hypocrisy?
Successful restaurants do not need to beg for sympathy or exploit political divisions to keep their doors open. A respectable business earns its reputation through excellent food, genuine hospitality, honest management, and treating customers with dignity regardless of their religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
A reputation is built through integrity, not manufactured outrage, publicity stunts, or attempts to turn controversy into revenue.
Even your response to a Google reviewer, telling him, “Don’t speak at all then,” says quite a lot about your approach to customer service.
What an extraordinary demonstration of the hospitality you are now so desperately advertising!
Personally, I would not be honoured to set foot in a restaurant owned by someone like you, even if you offered me the finest meal completely free of charge.
I have absolutely no obligation to spend my money somewhere when I find the owner’s public attitudes so objectionable.
You have every right to express your opinions, just as others have every right to remember those opinions, criticise them, and refuse to support your business.
What makes this situation even more ironic is that you complain about being treated unfairly through negative reviews, apparently without considering that your own public statements may have alienated potential customers.
This is no longer simply about saving a restaurant. It is about the credibility, conduct, and character of the person asking to be rescued.
Before asking the public to save your business, perhaps you should ask yourself a much more important question:
Have you actually earned their respect?
Compassion cannot be demanded through dramatic speeches. Respect cannot be purchased through publicity campaigns. And a damaged reputation cannot simply be repaired by posting an emotional video.
You may succeed in attracting millions of views, Mr. Kapoor, but views are not affection, publicity is not respect, and controversy does not automatically make you a victim.
