Allegation is not Evidence Over the last few days, allegations have circulated on social media attempting to link Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and his family with a property in the United States. In any democratic public sphere, scrutiny is necessary—but scrutiny must rest on evidence, not assumption. This standard of fairness becomes even more necessary when unverified claims are directed at a public figure occupying positions of institutional responsibility and national consequence. The present allegation appears to rely largely on similarities of name and surname. Common surnames are not unusual in Odisha, and no publicly available material has so far established any familial, financial, or personal connection between the property in question and the public figure concerned or his family. The larger problem is the digital conflation of identities. Australia has just appointed Lt Gen Susan Coyle, a Corps of Signals officer, as its Army Chief, also its first woman Chief. A powerful signal, in more ways than one. This is not merely about representation. It reflects a deeper recognition: modern warfare is increasingly information-centric, where networks, spectrum, cyber, and cognition shape outcomes as much as if not more than kinetic force. In a recent article, I had argued that the Corps of Signals has moved beyond a “supporting” role. It now shapes the battlespace itself enabling decision superiority, protecting networks, integrating domains, and influencing narratives. If other militaries are aligning leadership and structures with these realities, the question for us is simple: Are we ready to evolve, or will we remain anchored to legacy precepts and labels? India’s security challenges, especially along sensitive land borders will always demand strong Infantry and Armour. But the character of war has expanded. The domains of cyber, electromagnetic, information, and cognition are no longer peripheral, they are decisive. ODISHA (MIXED) TREKKING CAMP 2026: ADVENTURE, UNITY & ESPRIT DE CORPS 🇮🇳🥾 Adventure met determination as NCC cadets from every corner of Odisha came together for the Odisha (Mixed) Trekking Camp, a vibrant celebration of endurance, discipline, and camaraderie 🤝🇮🇳. The camp is being conducted from 02–09 February by 7 Odisha Battalion NCC, Bhadrak, under the aegis of NCC Group HQ Cuttack. 👥 11 ANOs and 510 cadets are sharing this extraordinary journey—living, learning, and training together while strengthening the bonds of unity and teamwork that define the NCC. Adventure met determination as NCC cadets from every corner of Odisha came together for the Odisha (Mixed) Trekking Camp, a vibrant celebration of endurance, discipline, and camaraderie 🤝🇮🇳.
The camp is being conducted from 02–09 February by 7 Odisha Battalion NCC, Bhadrak, under the aegis of NCC Group HQ Cuttack.

👥 11 ANOs and 510 cadets are sharing this extraordinary journey—living, learning, and training together while strengthening the bonds of unity and teamwork that define the NCC.
