Our government is delivering the largest expansion of medical education in more than a decade, including two new medical schools at Toronto Metropolitan University and York University.

Since 2018, we’ve registered more than 100,000 nurses and 20,000 doctors to practice in Ontario, connecting millions of patients to convenient care, close to home.

Applications are now open for the new stream of Ontario’s Learn and Stay Grant, covering education and related costs for more than 2,000 family doctors who agree to work here in Ontario.

Since 2023, the grant has supported more than 13,300 Ontario nurses, paramedics and medical lab techs working in the regions of the province that need them most.
