It is tragic photos of the beatification of these 9 priests contains Rupnik's rape art in the background. The honourable thing to do is edit out the images which cause so much psychological re-abuse @CatholicReview
Nine Polish #Salesian#priests killed in German Nazi concentration camps during World War II were beatified June 6 at the Sanctuary of St. John Paul II in #Kraków during a Mass that highlighted not only their #martyrdom but also their lives as educators, pastors and mentors to young people.

Girls vaccinated for HPV have close to zero risk of dying from cervical cancer before age 30, study suggests. Only girls can develop cervical cancer @SkyNews
This is wonderful news. It has an additional layer of importance for the survivor community. Women and girls who experience rape and sexual abuse are much less likely to consent to cervical screening, so their risk risk factors for cancer are higher. Thankfully the vaccine has eliminated the trauma caused by these previously life saving examinations.
A really insightful and accurate article which perfectly articulates what I've been going on about for ages. Policies and procedures are of limited efficacy if you don't change hearts and minds. To change how people feel requires something more than an audit or yet another report.
I don't normally do personal posts but one of the reasons why I remain opposed to the #assistedsuicide bill is its determination to provide it for those with #Downsyndrome. Section 19 even provides for a proxy for those who cannot read.
My uncle Kenny, who competed at the National Special Olympics in Canada in 1994, was my first friend. Though he had Down Syndrome he could read (I remember when I was very young he would read me comics), memorised Hamlet's soliliquoy and told many jokes. He was a wonderful, warm, gentle character. But he was also very suggestible and needed guidance about many aspects of life.
I would not have wanted him to decide to kill himself with no input from family and those who cared for him, as this bill will provide for in those in a similar situation to Kenny. The fact that many people with learning disabilities were given DNR notices indicates that eugenic reasoning lives on. That this bill - and its EQIA- is careful to include those with Down syndrome indicates its eugenic nature.
It must be defeated.
This tweet about the circumstances of baby Preston's death is not being reposted to be sensationalistic, but people do need to see the consequences of failing to speak out for fear of being accused of some manner of discrimination. A child or vulnerable adult's safety must always come first.
@spectator Stop using flowery language. His anal cavity and his mouth/throat were severely damaged from sexual abuse. He most likely died of asphyxiation during sexual abuse. The world needs to come to terms with what these monsters do to children so we can prevent it from happening again.
I am so glad to see groups now embrace a spirit of kindness and hope rather than the anti clericalism and cynicism of the past. There are people in the church who have caused devastation due to safeguarding failures, but there are many many good people in the church too who are working tirelessly to make it safer for everyone behind the scenes. It's great these groups are finally seeing this now. This is real progress.

The Madrid High Court has SUSPENDED the Socialist government's desecration of the Valley of the Fallen
The court stated it was because of:
"Irreparable damage to the protected heritage and that the legal procedure for their authorization has not been followed"
Here we go again... rather than working to ensure a 'good death' for all by funding end of life care, yet another misguided MP is pushing for assisted suicide
Thankfully my @BBCOne documentary explaining mine & others opposition is still on @BBCiPlayer

I don't know how old you're children are, but if it is of any help, I think what I've learn't from hindsight as the mother of a 20 year old and twin 18 year olds, is social media is a door which children and young people can open for themselves. Just as in the physical world we must constantly assess and re-assess when they can walk through those doors safely and with whom, we must do likewise in the online world too. I am heartened the ban has come into place. I wish it had been government policy ten years ago.
The idea that our kids are safer being looked out for by Musk & Zuckerberg than a democratically elected government of the U.K. is the weirdest take I have ever come across in my life.
🚨 Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s Son Sentenced to 4 Years for Rape and Abuse
An Oslo court has convicted 29-year-old Marius Borg Høiby — son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of Crown Prince Haakon — of two counts of rape and additional charges including domestic violence, gross bodily harm, and drug offences.
He was sentenced to four years in prison. Prosecutors had sought over seven years, while his defence requested around 18 months for the admitted lesser offences. Høiby was acquitted on two other rape charges. He appeared via video link from prison due to health reasons and is reported to accept the verdict without appeal.
Key details from the case:
• One rape at the royal Skaugum estate in 2018 (victim asleep, reportedly captured on video).
• Another rape in Oslo in 2024.
• Multiple charges spanning 2018–2024 involving ex-girlfriend Nora Haukland and others.
The high-profile trial has shaken Norway’s royal family, especially with Crown Princess Mette-Marit facing her own serious health issues.
A stark reminder that no one is above the law — even those close to royalty.
What’s your reaction to this sentencing? 👇
I am in despair about this. This is the greatest safeguarding risk facing the vulnerable in the UK. Anyone with a mental health condition as a result of trauma or disability will be put at risk.
NEW - The Assisted Dying Bill is coming back to the Commons.
It is being reintroduced by Lauren Edwards, who came second in the private member's bill ballot.
Supporting restrictions on social media for under-16s is not about limiting freedom but helping young people to grow in it. Their worth should not be measured by likes or followers. Childhood is a time for real friendships, discovery and wonder. Sometimes the most caring thing we can do is set wise boundaries.
