Join the group above to get updates and be part of Cohort 3.0.
Letâs get ready for whatâs coming.
Week 1 Class 2 of the Softr phase at Next Gen Automation Academy was all about going deeper into the platform.
After the initial introduction, this session focused on understanding the Softr interface in detail.
Led by @maryamadetokunb , students were guided through how to navigate the environment and start thinking in terms of building real applications.
We covered:
⢠How the Softr interface is structured
⢠How to organize pages and blocks effectively
⢠How to connect data to create functional user experiences
⢠An introduction to the Code Builder for adding custom logic
This is an important shift in the training.
Up until now, the focus has been on building automation systems.
Now, students are learning how to turn those systems into usable applications that people can actually interact with.

Week 10 wrapped. Capstones assigned. đ
Now we move.
Week 1 (Softr) just kicked off inside Next Gen Automation Academy.
Students were introduced to Softr by @maryamadetokunb breaking down how to turn automation systems into real user-facing apps.
Because building workflows is one thingâŚ
Turning them into products clients can use is another.
From n8n â to full-stack automation systems.
This is where things get interesting đ

AI that guesses â
AI that retrieves facts â
Week 8 Class 1 at Next Gen Automation Academy.
We built a RAG Agent live.
Hereâs what we did:
⢠Uploaded a companyâs FAQ into Google Drive
⢠Extracted and chunked the data
⢠Converted it into embeddings
⢠Stored it inside Pinecone (vector database)
⢠Connected it to a Telegram bot
⢠Retrieved precise answers instead of hallucinating
So when users asks a questionâŚ
The AI doesnât âmake something up.â
It searches the companyâs actual knowledge base from the pdf and responds with context-aware answers.
This is how you build AI systems businesses can trust.

Week 8 Class 2 at Next Gen Automation Academy was all about going deeper into RAG agents using Pinecone.
In the previous class, we built a working retrieval system.
This week, we focused on refining and optimizing it.
We discussed:
⢠How embeddings transform text into searchable vectors
⢠Why poor chunking destroys retrieval accuracy
⢠How Pinecone ranks and retrieves relevant context
⢠How to structure prompts around retrieved data
⢠How to significantly reduce hallucination
Most AI builders stop at âit works.â
But real-world implementation requires more than that.
If your chunking is wrong, your retrieval is weak.
If your retrieval is weak, your AI confidence drops.
If your AI confidence drops, businesses wonât trust it.
Students are now understanding that building RAG systems is not about adding a vector database.
Itâs about designing the entire retrieval architecture intentionally.
This is the level of depth weâre operating at in Week 8.

Cohort 2.0 of Next Gen Automation Academy has been an amazing ride so far.
In the last few weeks we havenât just been talking about AI and automationâŚ
weâve been building real systems live with the students.
Things like:
⢠Lead generation pipelines
⢠Deep personalized cold email systems
⢠AI workflows using n8n
⢠Data scraping and enrichment systems
⢠Automation setups businesses actually pay for
and much more to come in the coming weeks
The best part has been seeing students go from âIâve never built something like this beforeâ to actually understanding how these systems work.
If youâre curious about what weâve been building or what students are saying about the training, take a moment to check some of the posts on the page.
Cohort 3.0 is coming up and the waitlist group is now open.

Understanding API responses & data types.
We used Apify inside n8n to pull structured data, loop properly, and populate Google Sheets cleanly.
Most automation errors donât come from logic.
They come from not understanding the data structure.
Thatâs what I love teaching.
We didnât just connect nodes.
We interacted with a real API inside n8n live training. đ
During our NextGen Academy Data Types session, we built this workflow from scratch:
â Schedule Trigger
â Call an API using Apify (Run Actor â Get Dataset)
â Retrieve structured JSON data
â Loop through each item properly
â Map correct data types (string, number, boolean)
â Append clean rows into Google Sheets
This is where most people get stuck:
Not understanding how APIs return data
Confusing arrays vs objects
Mishandling numbers as strings
Appending broken rows into Sheets
We used Apify inside n8n to:
⢠Trigger an actor
⢠Wait for dataset completion
⢠Fetch the structured output
⢠Transform it correctly before writing to Sheets
Automation isnât about âdrag and dropâ.
Itâs about understanding:
â How APIs respond
â How data is structured
â How to process it correctly
This is how we train at NextGen Academy.

Most people building automations donât fail because of AI.
They fail because they donât understand Data Types.
At NextGenAutoAI Academy, we didnât just explain theory, we built it live.
We showed our students:
⢠Why a string is different from a number
⢠Why a boolean can break your workflow
⢠How arrays behave inside automations
⢠Why objects matter when passing structured data
⢠How the wrong data type silently destroys logic
In automation, data types are not âbasic.â
They are the foundation of everything.
If you donât understand data types:
Your filters wonât work.
Your conditions will misfire.
Your AI outputs wonât behave as expected.
Your workflows will fail silently.
So instead of just teaching nodesâŚ
We teach thinking.
We teach structure.
We teach how data actually moves.
Because once you understand data types,
You stop guessing.
You start engineering.
Short live breakdown attached đ
This is how we build real AI automation minds.

Every time a Shopify order is created, this workflow automatically:
â Updates Zoho CRM
â Creates invoice in Harvest
â Creates task in Trello
â Sends smart emails via Gmail
â Tags customer in Mailchimp
No manual work. No missed steps.
Just seamless automation.
Most AI courses stop at showing you tools.
At NextGen Academy, we build real intelligent systems live with our students.
This mini Virtual Assistant was built and taught step-by-step by @Asoft001 during training so students didnât just watch⌠they understood the architecture behind it.
Hereâs what the assistant does:
⢠Monitors Gmail inbox in real time
⢠Uses an AI Agent to understand email context
⢠Checks Airtable goals before drafting responses
⢠Reviews Google Calendar events for availability
⢠Drafts intelligent, context-aware replies
⢠Categorizes emails into Spam, Promos, Sponsors, Meetings, or Check Later
⢠Applies the correct label automatically
This is not basic automation or ai agent.
Itâs structured AI system design.
Students learned:
â How to connect AI to external tools
â How to use memory and structured output parsing
â How to implement rule-based decision switching
â How to design assistants that think before acting
At NextGen Academy, we donât just teach prompts.
We teach how to build AI agents that integrate, reason, and execute in real workflows.

Most AI courses stop at âthis is ChatGPT.â
At NextGen Academy, we go further.
Hereâs a real AI Agent workflow we taught during training:
⢠A chat trigger to receive messages
⢠An AI Agent powered by an OpenAI chat model
⢠Memory to retain conversation context
⢠Tools like Calculator for reasoning
⢠Wikipedia integration for external knowledge
⢠Gmail node to send intelligent responses
This is how modern AI systems are designed.
We donât just teach prompting.
We teach architecture.
We teach orchestration.
We break down how agents use models, memory, and tools to make decisions in real-world scenarios.
Because the goal is simple: build builders.
