They added that with the market deregulated, the prices of petrol from the Dangote Refinery would be determined by global market forces, which is largely driven by dollar. So, based on these realities, Dangote refinery will fix the price they sell their petrol by themselves.

But their claim didn’t add up. One, Tinubu ordered that NNPC should sell crude to Dangote refinery in local currency (Naira). Two, the refinery is refining locally (in Nigeria). Three, they’re selling locally (to Nigerians).

@wolix1759 @GuardianNigeria They haven't bought in Naira yet. The crude for the PMS DRL is selling at the moment was purchased in dollars (from the United States). Hopefully, from October, they'd be able to access crude from NNPC in naira, and sell refined PMS in Naira
