After @Shopify's July 6 post on strengthening review trust, these apps lost the biggest share of their public reviews and stayed down through July 13. EU Withdrawal Button Free fell the furthest, down about 93 percent, from 200 public reviews to 14. Source: https://t.co/4QeS1MW6w5.
The Shopify App Store added 532 apps last week and crossed 23,900. Here's Week 28 (July 6 to 12).
That brings the store to 23,947 live apps, up about 2% on the week and ahead of the 479 apps added the week before.
Most of the new apps landed in Analytics and SEO, which tied at 34 listings each. Support chat followed with 26, then Discounts with 19 and Upsell and cross-sell with 18.
Reviews went the other way. The store's total review count fell by about 2,300, and most of that came from two apps. Hoppy Free Shipping Bar Upsell dropped from 965 reviews to 106, and Email PopUp and Pop Up Discount from 820 to 61. Both also fell sharply in their category rankings.
The Built for Shopify count rose by eight, to 1,555. The most reviewed of the newly badged apps was RT: Disable Right Click, a right-click blocker, at 279 reviews and a 4.9 rating.
A few launches came from developers who already have a track record. Commerce Plus shipped EU Withdrawal Button and Form on the 6th, another entry in the EU right of withdrawal wave, and the studio carries 2,315 reviews across its other apps, so the new listing arrives with some built-in trust.
The sharpest category climb was Novo: Scrolling Text Builder, up 26 spots in images and media, from 40 to 14. The biggest slide was Sternify, down 31 in Page builder, from 13 to 44.
That's the week. It's built from public App Store data, refreshed every morning, and you can get the same view for your own category at https://t.co/4QeS1MW6w5.
Keep going back and forth on this. I want to build an MRR dashboard from Shopify Partner data.
The problem is @Asomify has only ever used public data, and this would mean asking you to connect your Partner account. That changes what it even is.
Honestly not sure yet.
If you build on Shopify, this is the Sunday post you stop scrolling for. Here's everything that moved this week.
The store passed 23,398 live apps, up about 2% on the week, and 463 of those were brand new. That's ahead of the 441 added the week before.
Most of the new apps landed in Analytics, which added 31 listings. SEO followed with 29, then Upsell and cross-sell with 20, Support chat with 16, and Discounts with 15.
Merchants left 11,858 new reviews across the store, up 1.4%. @judgeme took 641 of them by itself, more than double the next app. TikTok added 284, @printify 226, Kaching Bundles 207, and Shopify Flow 205.
Thirteen apps earned the Built for Shopify badge, bringing the total to 1,547. The most reviewed of the new ones was Shuttle, an Etsy sync app, sitting at 208 reviews and a 4.7 rating.
A few launches came from developers who already have a track record. PieLab shipped PAI: AI Blog and AEO, and the studio carries 3,810 reviews across its other apps, so the new listing starts with some built-in trust.
The sharpest category climb was Springify, up 27 spots in Bulk editor, from 46 to 19. The biggest slide was Staff Hub, down 23 in Staff notifications, from 23 to 46.

My favourite feature in @Asomify is Collections, and I didn't expect it to be.
Ten curated feeds that keep an eye on the whole Shopify App Store for me, refreshed daily.
Here's App Store review growth measured against each app's own history instead of against other apps: reviews per month over the last 28 days versus its lifetime average.
The apps accelerating most are all old:
– @printify, 11 years, ~7x its lifetime pace
– @klaviyo, 14 years, ~6x
– Instafeed (@MinttStudio) and Matrixify, ~10 years, 5x+
– Globo Mega Menu (@ContactGlobo), 9 years, 5x
Most apps grow fastest early on. These are doing it a decade in.
Data from @Asomify.
On the Shopify App Store, the apps with the most reviews are just the biggest apps. Growth relative to size is more telling: reviews added in the last 28 days as a share of an app's existing total.
By that measure the fastest growers span every age:
– REZ Preorder, 1 year, 16%
– SEOLab, 18 months, 11%
– Kaching CartDrawer, 1.5 years, 7%
– Fast Bundle, a few years, 7%
– Printify, 11 years, 5.5%
@judgeme has the most reviews at ~41,000, but added 2.7% in the same window, around 106th. @printify at 11 years is still growing faster for its size.
Chart from the @Asomify Market Intelligence report.
So I launched @Asomify about 5 weeks ago. After ~10 years in data, I think I can actually build something useful for Shopify devs here.
Figured it's time to start doing weekly updates on what got shipped. Here's what changed over the past few days:
- Cleaned up a bunch of dashboard numbers that were quietly wrong: rank trends, keyword scores, review counts
- Redesigned the daily digest email, added dark mode, split your tracked keywords from the ones we auto-discover for you
- Fixed a billing bug where trial customers with a card on file saw the wrong status
- AI Visibility broke for some users this week, fixed it
- Dashboard pages load noticeably faster
- Redesigned the marketing site
Mostly fixes and small improvements this time. Another batch is already queued for next week, then back to building new features.
See you next week 🫡
