I’m not a Christian.
But I believe Pope Francis was the most badass Pope in history.
He refused to reduce God to a magician. Fought climate collapse. And preached like he time-traveled from 2140.
Here are 9 reasons why he was lightyears ahead of his time: 🧵
I’m forcing a vote to end Trump’s chaotic trade war.
It’s time for Republicans in Congress to decide if they’ll do their jobs and stand up for the American people alongside Democrats, or if they’ll fall on the ground and kiss the hem of Trump's britches.
Before there was Earth Day, there was Woodstock — hundreds of thousands gathered on a dairy farm, celebrating peace, love, and the planet. This Earth Day, we remember that the roots of the environmental movement were growing right alongside the music.

Jane and I had the privilege of meeting Pope Francis in 2016.
His always spoke out for the poor and disenfranchised and injected the need for morality into the global economy.
He reminded us that greed & money worship is not what human existence is about.
He will be missed.
Enough of this Red State / Blue State nonsense.
We are one people.
And we all deserve a government of the people, by the people, for the people.
Not a government of the billionaires, by the billionaires, for the billionaires.
Let me thank the people of Vermont for their strong support.
I look forward to continue working with all Vermonters to address the very serious challenges facing our state and nation.
In my view, our strength continues to rest with our state’s motto: “Freedom and Unity.”

From Connecticut to California, corporate landlords charge outrageous rents that fuel the housing affordability & homelessness crises.
We can fight back.

Again: DO NOT WAIT. Contact family or friends you feel drawn to contact. Especially if there has been pain between you. Say something, even if it seems inadequate or foolish. Do not wait.
I wanted so much to send this to Demi. I wish I had found a way. This was part of the bond and part of the wacked-out humor she and I shared back in the 70s. She would understand exactly why I was having hysterics.

Don't get the #RSV that is going around. You'll cough a lot thinking it's allergies only to end up with what feels like a bad cold while coughing your guts out. TAKE VITAMIN C. Don't mess around, it's not Covid but it's exhausting
@DemiHungerford I believe in the next life but that's not like telling her in the here and now. There is nothing I can do.
DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. *DON'T WAIT.* *SAY SOMETHING.* *EVEN IF IT SEEMS DUMB AND WRONG.*
This has been a public service announcement.
@DemiHungerford died of liver cancer on 12/14/22. In the 70s, she and I were good friends by mail. Star Trek and opera were our things. For reasons I won't go into here, we never met, leading to pain and bad karma between us. /1
@DemiHungerford I always wanted to find a way to heal what had gone wrong. I composed letters a million times in my head but none were "right".
This afternoon, after waiting far too long, I checked in again and found she had died of liver cancer six months ago. /4
