@AesirAesthetics - DS1 and Sekiro are chefs kiss mastapieces
- BB is the coolest
- DeS has peak aesthetic and narrative but the gameplay is rough
- ER is a beautiful, but mixed bag
- DS3 is a good game with a mid story
- DS2 is generally bad overall but experimentally interesting w/ good ideas
@slitherwinglove because DS2 and 3 have way less artistic integrity, they primarily exist to capitalize on the popularity of DS1 as a brand. DS1 did not need a sequel, the story and themes stand on their own, and in fact are better emphasized in isolation without the sequels muddying them.

Because they gutted the original lighting seen here. Also it is the only game to use a different engine, and animation system.
DeS, DaS, BB, Sekiro, and Elden Ring all use the same engine over time, but not DS2. This is why the DS2 co op mod isn't out.
@Jeff_like_Feff literally spent the entirety of 2024 & 25 thinking "nah I'll wait a bit to get new PC parts and storage when new products come out and prices go down" :(
@nicbarkeragain Fun fact: behind the scenes, there was a lot of... "friendly" competition behind the scenes between the devs of Banjo and Conker's Bad Fur Day. The devs of Conker did a casual playthrough a long time ago where they share a lot of the dev history

@mov_xor@cmuratori this is from the video game "Animal Well" made by Billy Basso. it's like a metroidvania but very puzzle-focused. super creative and fun.
@beiramiragem it's more likely that they had the master key and went into Blighttown backwards from the New Londo path, and then noped out or died back to Firelink.

@thomasklemenc@nbaschez Unironically I was just beating myself up yesterday for my vim config taking ~250 ms to load (on Windows, almost twice as slow as vim on Linux)
@MikeWithAHotDog@ThePrimeagen I have the opposite feeling. Odin feels very convenient and sensible (compared to C), while Zig feels way more verbose and explicit. Not necessarily better or worse, just a matter of preference
