Wisdom and love is my fruit, I hope to keep it pure

One day I will fly away to the land of the gods. The Orishas will offer me a seat in the pantheon.

I will see Eledumare, my forebears will be blessed for giving me their name.

One day I will be nothing less but more of God.

Resilient with setbacks.

Relentless with iteration.

The good things we affirm takes time because what will be (destiny) are already in motion.

There's already an existing path, lane and motion, which every souls is on.

So when a force is applied on this motion, there's a disruption, that's why negative things are so visible.

"No one can tell which cigarette, in many years of smoking, started the cancer. Or the very conversation that changed our lives. Or the exact gesture that caused us to fall in love. It’s the thing about tipping points; you wake up one day and life has changed. You’re happier, your next meal is promised. You finally happened to life..."

There's a white bro currently in SF replicating Lagos Life right now.

They see the meteoric rise of users of the game, but they don't want to acknowledge that an African talent can come up with it.

That babe is going places anyway. Universal talent. This one pass global.

see, go and read leading at the speed of trust by Stephen Covey.

read it to lead yourself and others well.

what most African markets lack is trust infrastructure and I know we will build it soon.

let all of us with integrity work with each other and multiply ourselves!

I want to be able to give out a loan and trust that you will repay.

I want to send out a package and trust that it will be delivered and I’ll get paid on time.

I want to collaborate with brands and trust that they won’t try to “steal” the ideas alone for themselves.

we can really do it and we will!

[Greg Nwoko 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 @nwoko_greg62705]

You were not taught this in school.

School gave you dates to memorize. I give you the Nigeria you can touch.

On my handle you will see the soldiers who stood at Iddo Gate in Ibadan in the 1910s guarding the Treasury. You will see that ancient Ibadan did not have one gate, it had 16 gates as a nodal town, and later 4 major gates that led to Abeokuta, Oyo, Iwo and Ijebu.

You will see a 1926 newspaper advert of Isaac F. Karunwi on Onireke Road, Ibadan. A Mechanical Engineer, vulcanizing tyres and repairing gramophones and typewriters in 1918. A Nigerian mechanic, with his own garage and telegraphic address, when they told you we had nothing.

You will see who Edem Efiom Ekpo was, Duke Ephraim I, the man the Portuguese called Duke Aphrom, who stopped the killing of twins in Efik land over 100 years before Mary Slessor came.

You will see Igbo land history like the Aba Women's Riot of 1929 where Igbo women forced the colonial government to cancel taxes and drove warrant chiefs from power.

You will see Kano history like how in the 1940s and 50s when you landed at Kano Airport, the first airport in Nigeria opened in 1936, you were welcomed on the tarmac by camels and by men blowing the kakaaki, the long royal trumpet, a full royal welcome for ordinary passengers.

Why should you find joy in this?

Because verified history heals. It stops the lie that we started with nothing. It shows you that your grandfather built, traded, engineered, ruled and negotiated with the world long before colonial photos.

History gives you root. When you know where you come from, no one can sell you shame about who you are.

That is what I post here. Not copied stories. Original papers, original photos, verified.

If you love Nigeria, follow the real story.

" They say money can't buy happiness, but money can buy you time..
..Let me give you an instance. Three dialysis sessions a week, and where I did mine it was 150k to 200k per session.
That's about 31 million a year just to stay alive while you wait. A minimum-wage person is dead already on one session.."
TG breaks down what it really costs to stay alive on dialysis in Nigeria.

I've lived in continental Europe, the UK, and now America, and I can say this is not true. Some Nigerian families depend on money from their loved ones who do care work in Western countries to survive.

In the US and UK, some care workers earn up to $4k per month, and not all roles involve personal care. For instance, some care work that involves personal care in the US may pay up to $25 per hour.

The average care worker in the US and even the UK lives better than most teachers in Nigeria. Care workers in the UK have free access to healthcare, their children attend quality public schools for free, and minor children receive financial support until they turn 18, they can easily access loans, etc.

While an average educated person in America or the UK is 99% certain of getting a job that will afford them three square meals a day, the vast majority of their counterparts in Nigeria are nowhere near that certainty.

The first step towards solving a problem is acceptance. Accept that a lot of Nigerians are suffering and work towards changing the situation instead of creating false narratives.
