More opportunities for children to write and teachers to formatively moderate writing with schools across Oxfordshire using #comparativejudgement with @AssessProgress. We’re looking forward to reading this work based on: ‘Using dialogue to advance the action’ from Thursday.
Participating in comparative judgement has shown how rife run-on sentences are in KS2 writing so I’ve been drilling mine recently.
Noticed one of my y5s used a dash correctly today- he said “well I thought I’d better put it there otherwise it’d be a run-on”.
I. Could’ve. Cried.
On a panel @EdTech_Summit with a discussion about digitisation and hybrid assessment models. Come to the main stage today at 11:40am to hear about the work we’ve been doing with @RMEducation using Comparative Judgement to improve teaching & learning in schools. #EdTechSummit21
@JohnBaldLangLit That there is increased validity over teacher moderation alone. there is much higher validity in using CJ to assess. You used NARA II- This is an entirely different assessment in an entirely different domain administered in an entirely different way to argue a different point.
@RMPeterCollison @_MissieBee@JohnBaldLangLit While your children will have their work moderated by 20 teachers not at your school. Particularly perfect if you’re in a small school and don’t get the chance to moderate across a wide sample of schools often.
@RMPeterCollison @_MissieBee@JohnBaldLangLit 2) higher reliability, higher validity, fairer, quicker. While teachers get to see several examples of the same piece of work from 40 / 50 children not at their school to benchmark against
