I’ve just travelled on the Eurostar, and tried to work on my laptop for the duration of the journey, 2h20mins.
The network was almost non-existant during the entire UK leg (35 minutes from London to the tunnel). As soon as we emerged in France, the network was available almost uninterruptedly for the rest of the journey (1h20mins).
Surely, the availability of internet connectivity has got to be an objective measure of the economic health of a country. Sadly, yet another sign of the decline of the UK as a global power.
Eurostar have to find a solution. What are they waiting for to install Starlink-compatible receivers on their train.
I would love someone to measure the productivity loss every day for hundreds of passengers who are frustratingly offline for more than 1h on every journey on board of the Eurostar.

🚨 JUST NOW: The entirety of US Congress ERUPTS in a standing ovation when King Charles III drops this line
“Magna Carta is cited in at least 160 Supreme Court cases in 1789, not least as the foundation of the principle that executive power is subject to CHECKS AND BALANCES."
I was so honored to be able to attend King Charles III’s address to a Joint Session of Congress. Simply put: The King nailed it.
His speech was a much-needed morale boost for Congress, as he glowingly praised our nation and highlighted the role Congress plays in our democratic republic.
The speech was a terrific combo of wit, humor, history and appreciation. I believe most members of Congress feel better after the speech than they did before. Though I will admit it was a bit odd that the unifying feeling had to come from the King of England… but so be it!
Brilliant, bold and challenging address by King Charles to the U.S. Congress which was (very unusually!) united in regular standing ovations. The best speech of his life, right when his country needed him to step up and repair the Special Relationship. Bravo, Your Majesty! 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
@Heccles94@ZackPolanski A good starting point would be to learn to write without spelling or grammatical mistakes: "Zack's teeth" not "Zack teeth". And teeth is plural so "teeth worry the elite" not "teeth worries the elite".
I have been listening to electric guitar for the past 40 years. I went through a heavy metal phase, a blues phase, a progressive rock phase, always in search for the most inspirational guitarist. From malmsteen to satriani, to gary moore, to knopfler, to uli roth, to marty friedman, gilmour, and so many others. I stand ready to name the two greatest solos of all time, and would love for other guitar afficionados to introduce me to any others I might have missed along my journey:
- The best of times, Dream Theater (John Petrucci)
- Altitudes (Jason Becker)

@joeroganhq the most consequential: trump during his 2nd campaign.
the most entertaining: elon smoking weed.
the most intriguing: when you describe to your guest your experiences with ayahuaska.
Can someone provide a rational explanation for why an ipad with a keyboard cover is not allowed during take-off and landing on @British_Airways , but removing the keyboard cover makes it safe to use ?
🤷🏻♂️Curious to understand the logic...
With three supersonic runs, XB-1 completed its 13th and final flight, bringing our groundbreaking flight test program to a close. Watch it soar over the Mojave Desert.
Huge respect and gratitude for the French police and army. The city is exceptionally safe and organised during the games. During every interaction we've had with them they were courteous, polite, respectful and helpful. Proud.
