This is beyond offensive and not even close to accurate about diabetes or why people need insulin. Thousands of people in your district have Type 1 diabetes at no fault of their own - do you not care?
Shame on you.
@wallflower_mads @haydenbetic Second this. Though, I’ve had parents quickly move their children away from me when injecting insulin; I assume they thought it was heroin. 🙄 it’s like really? Out in the open at a water park, ok 👍
I have a dream — not fearing being homeless again. One day the proletariat of insulin-dependent diabetics will rise up and overthrow corporate sociopathy and capitalism, I hope 🤞 until then, the fear in work continues, alas.
My favorite part was when they made us hike all day to the campsite from base camp, lugging gallons of water in case anyone got keytones, while also — carrying pounds of sugar to combat the effects of lugging pounds of water 😂
Reminder that the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 protects all people with diabetes at work, and requires employers make reasonable accommodations so you can do what you need for your health.
And to the writer - maybe ask why the ‘beeper’ is so important first?
