1/10 THREAD 🧵The Labour MP Kim Leadbeater has published the draft text of her proposed assisted dying bill, putting forward “the best possible legislation”, while containing the “strictest protections and safeguards of any legislation anywhere in the world”.
9/10 #3 As another layer of safeguarding, approval by a High Court judge is required. With assisted dying applicants only eligible if they are reasonably expected to have less than six months to live, will there be time for a court system already under serious strain to consider?
