🛑 Call of Joint Platform of Doctors, West Bengal

We are deeply concerned. Our brothers and sisters are on hunger strike. The state administration is still extremely inflexible and insensitive to their legitimate demands. The civil society of Bengal is seething with anger.

With the strong support of the movement of junior doctors, a symbolic hunger strike of countless senior doctors is going on every day at the central stage of Dharmatala and at the hunger stage of North Bengal Medical College on the call of the Joint Platform of Doctors.
The Joint Platform of Doctors is now requesting everyone across the state to participate in a symbolic fast and protest at their respective workplaces for 12 hours on the 14th October 2024 from 9 am to 9 pm to emphasize this demand to the Deaf administration and to get them to take immediate action. At the same time, we are appealing to the local civil society everywhere to join this program.

Along with this, people from all walks of lives including all doctors are requested to actively participate in the "DROHA CARNIVAL" at Rani Rasmani Avenue on October 15.

One lady doctor was heckled and manhandled at Desun Hospital today by HR Manager Mr. Manas Pal. Team WBDF rushed to the spot,Official complaint was lodged to Desun Management and at Anandapur Police station. A discussion was made between Team WBDF and Desun Hospital Management, urged them to form an enquiry committee as per BISAKHA Act/ POSH and till the final report of the said enquiry is completed,WBDF demanded the accused HR person should be put under suspension. According to their assurance, Mr. Pal was ordered to go on compulsory leave by Hospital Management.
