@john102414 The combined effect is to drive out the younger, productive rich while keeping rich retirees around in their homes longer than is appropriate.
i’m ambivalent about the tax increase on passive incomes on higher income residents.
but what frustrates me to no end is the insane property tax exemptions that we give rich boomers with large accumulated wealth:
— automatic 50% property tax reduction
— cap of 2% on property tax growth
so working families need to pay more taxes so that seniors can remain in their oversized homes? absolutely insane policy.
@GreenPlusAnE
The Trump Administration may be flailing in its foreign policy and trade goals, but its efforts to take away nutrition assistance and health care from millions are roaring successes.
@GreenPlusAnE is there a party that is fighting to end ss and medicare? i would totaly vote for it and i think you would be surprised at the number of people who would too. i suspect that a large reason that young people arent voting as much is because both party's support ss and medicare.
For half of wealthy Boomers, their top priority is to “enjoy my money for myself.” Wealthy millennials are considerably more likely to prioritize sharing their wealth with their children.
The generational wealth gap is real. Young Americans and seniors used to spend about the same on household wants in the 1980s. Today, Baby Boomers spend $5,301, while young adults spend just $2,613.
If you see someone talking about “small government” and “the debt” and “cutting spending”, but never mentioning the words Social Security or Medicare, you may have a Boomer conservative on your hands. Or a spiritually Boomer conservative suffering from false consciousness.
If suspending the Jones Act lowers oil prices, that tells you everything you need to know about the damage it causes when it is in force.
Don't just suspend it. End it.
@ondaverde1914@sentdefender if tanks can use the trophy active protectikn system, than it should be alot esier for ships to use it because they have even more reaction time
