I dont think you understand nor do i have the words capable of truly grasping the following but an attempt was made.

Quite frankly at the time of writing this, i still ponder if my words will do the topic justice.

Everyone in life has a personality that follows them around regardless of their actual self. What this means to me is a part of my very essence. The first souls game of any kind that i ever played was Elden Ring. I have never maxed a characters level. The reason being the game held a dear place in my heart for a few reasons. One being it was a birthday gift and Two the fact that my bestfriend at the time was playing it with me. Our friendship didnt last past my 6th play through oh the game. I then thought the happiness i felt from playing elden ring was mine and mine alone, however i was wrong, i ultimately couldnt fathom that the “favorite game” was no more.

I went a while quite empty, my family noticed the void in my eyes, i couldnt keeo a job because my mental state was destroyed. My “dream” was an illusion. As i reflected i was grateful for the time we played together but i knew everything there was in the game from our time so then i thought taking time to teach new players would fill the void, however it did not, only stanched the growth of my “depression”.

I suffer frim reality bending dreams where “5 hours of sleep” is me having lived at a different time in a different universe. Video games have always helped ground me with their rich stories an the emersion of their worlds.

An then i found Lords Of The Fallen.

Inherently i had no ally , no friend to go with , no one to watch my back. However even from day one i was able to play with someone but truly. Everyone who has done co op in souls-like and games in the genre are all too familiar with “limited co op” due to sections an their related bosses an events.

The FIRST chance ive ever has to have my comrade be by my side till the end and then to top it off, i can sacrifice my own well being to help them through the system of sanguinarix? I can give them 9 lives? I now refuse to heal with them as they are for my comrade.

Through random matchmaking i had met some of the most influential people in my life. Having a level of insync synergy that makes me refer to our gameplay in that moment as “ultra instinct “.

I play on xbox but when moved by the courage an tenacity of a random person who ive never met yet they bolster my resolve to press on till that next vestige, that i downloaded the playstation app an made an account just to be able to talk and message these amazing people.

Ive been to doctors , therapist, shrinks an they all have concluded the same thing , that i am to do what makes me wanna wake up and be better an do better everyday.
An in the universe of Lords Of The Fallen i can be my “envisioned self” to a level so uncanny i still cant believe its possible in this reality.

Everyone at home watches me geek an jump for joy anytime a post is made, i get a like or a reply. The first day you personally liked one of my posts everyones ears hurt from me screaming how happy i was. That was also followed by me falling down the stairs. (Im okay , completely worth it)

Ive never been a big social media person and yet when i learned there was an active team that interacted on the game? I sat up an just wished i had the courage to be who i was in the game.

I was fighting Adyr with a random, when i noticed he was on iron man. I was underleveled, but i had grit, as far as i knew if he died that was it game over, 9 sanguinarix, i refused to use, he was dying, until we won i wouldnt use one to heal myself.

He followed suit. I died 5 times, him 9. He was my shield for a enemy i had not known. I refused to let his sacrifice be in vain. I fought for him and i cried for him, we had won and with that victory? A part of me, my inner child if you will was healed.
