The direction this app is taking, the fact people I respect are leaving, and a painful exchange with terfs resurfacing mean I'll be moving to Threads and Instagram over the coming weeks. I value my Autistic, queer, blind, and creative connections here - go well and stay in touch.
Eryth is good for short. This name encompasses many parts of my identity, passions, and aspirations. The transition is exciting and a little scary - thanks so much in advance for coming with me. 2/2
Hi everyone, I'm briefly re-entering Twitter to share that for many reasons, I've decided to change my name again: Asteryth comes from Greek Aster (star) + Eryth (red). Ryth or Rith is from Anglo-Saxon for either a small stream or a ford, depending on which source you read). 1/2
@GCMom693278@TruffleTerf@brandubh4 @CaisFiles How are we defining male and female here? Because if weโre using chromosomes, intersex people sometimes have neither XX or XY, and they may possess characteristics of both binary sexes.
Looking for a UK-based disabled artist who works in electronic music/audio manipulation. Concocting something with a poet/playwright collaborator and looking for someone to join the team. Drop me a DM if you're interested ๐ถโ๐ป
It is *so hard* to be openly trans right now. So much concentrated hate directed at such a small, vulnerable community. Just let us live our lives. Focus that energy on say, the climate crisis or the plight of desperate refugees, if you genuinely care about children being harmed.
@autisticdreamer Youโre dealing with so much, it makes sense to need an escape. I realise we donโt really know each other but my DMs are always open. I so hope you find the support you need & deserve. Have you come across Shout, crisis textline? I volunteer so am not unbiased but we do our best
@mightbeautistic I partly resonate with this. But for those of us Autistic people who lived much of our lives pre-identification knowing that we had other differences, the facets of who we are can interact to form a more muddied picture of those flashing scenes.
@autisticdreamer Your concern for her shows what a caring, empathetic person you are. You're holding both your own struggles and the impact this might have on her, and that's a lot to bear. You give so much through your courageous honesty and kindness, and I really hope you come to recognise that
@NeuroqueerFiona Sounds like a horrendous experience. If you haven't already checked out the Neurodivergent Therapists Directory, it might be worth doing so to see if working with someone who who is also ND makes a difference. I hope you find the support you need and deserve. Take care
She looked like the sky
had held her tenderly:
rain-wizened, windswept quietness
quivering against the skyless air,
her two grey moons
darting between their hands and her own shadow, and the cracks in the windowpanes where rain had thrummed. 1/2
I installed the update to this app today and the whole X thing is just so grim. Who's thinking of going somewhere else? This is currently my only social media platform, but looking to explore alternatives. Instagram's visual though, and sounds like Threads is still a bit sketchy?
