"I don't think it's the people dividing the country, it's the politics and the politicians. People feel like they have been left behind and they're struggling: stagnant wages, difficulty paying bills, collapse of public services, so they're angry" Totally agree @DrAmirKhanGP
"A lot of my family work in the NHS and we have all felt it."
Dr Amir Khan discusses his experience of racism and tells @vicderbyshire why he asked the PM what he is doing to bring the country together.

The final picture of Dr. #PrateekJoshi and his family breaks my heart. It’s one we've all taken. Just a young family excited for a journey. A brutal reminder of how cruel and unpredictable life can be. Cherish every moment because tomorrow isn’t promised. 🙏🏽
Pratik Joshi had been living in London for six years. A software professional, he’d long dreamed of building a life abroad for his wife and three young children, who stayed back in India.
After years of waiting for due clearances the dream was finally coming true. Just two days ago, his wife, Dr. Komi Vyas, a renowned doctor in Udaipur, resigned from her job. The bags were packed, goodbyes said, the future within reach.
This morning, the family of five, filled with hope and excitement, boarded Air India flight 171 to London. They clicked a selfie. Sent it to relatives. A one-way journey to a new life. But they never made it. The plane crashed. No one survived.
In a matter of moments, a lifetime of dreams turned to ash. A brutal reminder, life is terrifyingly fragile. Everything you build, everything you hope for, everything you love, it all hangs by a thread. So while you can, live, love, and don’t wait for happiness to start tomorrow.
"War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children."
Everyone deserves to live..🙏🏽

Congratulations to my bro @dmistry6621 who’s been shortlisted for the Positive Role Model: Race, Faith or Religion Award at the National Diversity Awards. He’s an active volunteer throughout West Yorkshire with initiatives which help the most vulnerable. #NDA24#CommunityHeroes
As a victim of a similar unprovoked racist attack, it pains me to see how our society is regressing. I hope the guy is ok and they prosecute those involved. As a POC its a worrying time right now. Not helped by some politicians who are creating a hostile environment. #Hartlepool
A racist attack in Hartlepool. The crowd causing trouble laugh and cheer as a person of colour is punched in the face. This is what happens when you appease the far-right.
From playing in the Championship to qualifying for the Champions League. What a journey it’s been. Absolutely incredible from Unai Emery and all the players to achieve this against the odds. Totally deserved.
Up the Villa! #avfc
#Defiance is shocking but necessary viewing about how Asians stood up to the far right in the 70s and 80s. It’s a reminder that a lot of the progress made is down to the bravery and fortitude of those who came before us. Even though we've come a long way, the fights not over yet.
‘Here to stay. Here to fight.’
#Defiance: Fighting the Far Right examines the political and social struggles faced by Britain’s Asian community between 1976 and 1981.
The series starts Monday 8th April, 9pm on @Channel4@rizwanahmed @groupm_motion
Israel has killed over 11,500 Palestinian children in Gaza and the West Bank since October 7th, when 36 Israeli children were killed.
It’s impossible to imagine that number. This is what it looks like. A line 5km long.

“I’m tired of having to justify my existence by the worth I bring to this country” @DrAmirKhanGP
Politicians and the media need to be more responsible and stop their inflammatory language as it only creates more division and encourages far right activity.

Winner of the reality series #CrazyRichAgents Krishan Mistry’s surprising journey into the world of real estate is as remarkable as his approach to the business.
#ShamimaBegum losing her appeal has big implications for UK citizens who are of foreign descent and is a “reminder that not everyone’s equal.” She was born and raised here so how can they take away her British citizenship on the basis that she was also Bangladeshi when she’s not.
“If she was white and called Sharon from Manchester, it wouldn’t even occur to the govt to take the passports of somebody ‘obviously’ British.”
Ex Lib Dem leader @TimFarron says Shamima Begum’s UK citizenship stripping is a "reminder not everyone's equal."

Imagine fleeing a war zone and still finding the energy to be racist by being triggered seeing people with different skin colours who’ve done nothing to you but exist. Not surprising considering the way brown and black people were treated in Ukraine when trying to leave. #C4News
"Too many Muslims, too many people with different skin colours."
Andrea, a host for the Homes for Ukraine scheme, tells @darshnasoni how "shocked" she was at how difficult a Ukrainian refugee found adjusting to ethnic diversity and cultural values in the UK.
