The only relevant data: an actual thread of 2025 AOTY & assortment of peak bangers because wrapped lack nuance. A lot of highs, but some faves didn't make it to the list (sorry TK and Simon).
Supriya on sharing her experience with gender dysphoria:
“I wrote most of that in two days. Sometimes as an actor, people want you to be mouthpieces for their ideas — and obviously, for the right idea, I’m happy to be a mouthpiece. I remember once sitting in a trailer, and I was just like, Damn, I really miss math. Like, I just miss thinking! And so I think writing that essay really made me realize I have so much busy brain power that I just need to channel somewhere. So I’ve just been writing for fun, seeing what comes out.”
Supriya on Mohabbot:
“I think there are a lot of people who see themselves in Samira and Abbot — people who really throw themselves into their work and are just completely bereft in other areas. And even though Abbot and Samira are so different, there is this connection there. People really responded to that and saw how it could work. It’s honestly just been all fun, and Shawn’s so great. We’re supposed to talk soon. He was like, “I need to catch you up!” Because I think he just directed an episode on the show.”
Wow. A student organizer leading protests against Zohran Mamdani tonight reveals that she previously interned for him.
Now she’s leading chants against the very politician she once worked for, accusing him of prioritizing his own political advancement over the people and movements that helped bring him to power.
She delivers an ultimatum: The protests can stop when Mamdani stops the sale of stolen Palestinian land in NYC and abolishes the CUNY Board of Trustees, which advances Israel’s interests within the nation’s largest urban public university system.
But she makes clear that she doesn’t expect him to deliver. In her view, Mamdani has become just another politician who makes promises to movements and then fails to meet their demands once in office.
What makes her testimony particularly significant is that she isn’t someone who opposed Mamdani from the beginning. She worked for him. She believed enough in his political project to participate in it. Now she’s publicly confronting him.
Her speech speaks to a broader frustration among people who placed their hopes in electoral politics as a vehicle for advancing Palestinian liberation. For some, the experience hasn’t strengthened their faith in political institutions. It has deepened their distrust.
RIGHT NOW: Zohran Mamdani stands on the Israeli side of an October 7 vigil while Palestinian organizers and supporters of Palestinian liberation directly protest him.
Another politician at the vigil is Brad Lander, who increased NYC pension holdings in Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, as their weapons were used to annihilate Palestinians at the height of the Gaza genocide.
Meanwhile, students across NYC are walking out of classrooms demanding an end to the city’s complicity in Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
Mamdani campaigned on solidarity with Palestine. Now the movement is confronting him over the gap between that solidarity and his political decisions. This is not a hypothetical contradiction or a disagreement over rhetoric. It is a confrontation over where political power is being exercised, whose demands are being accommodated, and whose are being dismissed.
Solidarity is measured by what you do with power, not what you say to obtain it.

My copy of RTD's Memoir arrived today; The Queerest of Folk.
A few quick observations that stood out to my on his chapter about Bad Wolf/Disney 'Doctor Who'.
- When Disney agreed to co-produce the show, the execs had never watched 'Doctor Who' and didn't know anything about it. They didn't even know about 'Blink'.
- RTD cites as one of the biggest reasons the era didn't work (or "destroyed the profile of the show", in his words) was because of the online leaks. Needless to say, I disagree.
- RTD had already written Episode 1 of 'The War Between The Land and the Sea' before the reveal of 'Legend of the Sea Devils' (January 1st 2022). Completely unrelated creatively.
- RTD admits it was "a confused launch" having the new era begin with a 60th Anniversary trilogy. "I think that fucked it from the start".
- Ncuti Gatwa's casting announcement before the BAFTA TV Awards was done to pre-empt a potential leak (I called this at the time!).
- '73 Yards' and 'Dot and Bubble' were relatively last minute writing jobs. Due to delays filming 'Sex Education', Ncuti started 3 months later than planned so these Doctor-lite scripts were written. They were not originally in the 8-episode pitch sold to Disney and there is no mention of what the original Episode 4 and Episode 5 were.
- Reflecting on his 2 Series, in particular the story of Ruby Sunday, if he has regrets or notes he doesn't mention them. He considers the run to be "magnificent".
- The show's budget was significantly lower than 'His Dark Materials'. The crew had to learn "how to downscale".
- There's an odd moment where he mentions "fixing problems on the spot" and then immediately talks about casting Belinda and "parking" Ruby. Was Millie Gibson considered a problem to be fixed? This is never elaborated on.
- 3 Episodes of Season 3 were fully written.
1) A Great Fire of London story by Laurence Clark and Jack Thorne.
2) A Brutal NASA Space Station Story by Lydia Adetunji.
3) A "lovely" episode set in a Manchester Council Estate by Sharma Angel-Walfall.
RTD wanted Juno Dawson to write another episode and was in talks with Kate Herron and Briony Redman to bring Jonathan Groff back as Rogue. "That sequel was forever getting postponed".
- Season 3 would have ended with a "Dalek four-part epic".
- There's no mention of 'The Reality War' reshoots. "We knew Ncuti was leaving", he claims, like it was always the plan.
- Regarding the 2026 Xmas Special Press Release; "I allowed my name to go on a press release that I actually felt kind of queasy about. That'll teach me!".
- "I didn't even get a contract to write the Christmas Special until the end of March 2026" (it was announced in Oct 2025).
- "I'll spend a year working on this, but it'll all be leaked before it gets on air...why bother?"
- According to Russell, the timeline was; Announce Xmas Special, Put The Show Out To Tender, Then Make The Special To Bridge the Gap, Fulfill The Tender.
There's a lot more in the chapter (which follows a previous 214 pages of information) but those are the things that stood out to me.
RTD may have his own private opinions, but in this book, it seems he has no creative regrets.
Gw ga akan bosen bilang hal ini.
