@ThomHuman Literally. That's the approach they took and it's probably the smartest/safest move from a business standpoint. They could have innovated, but then they are at the mercy and whim of a volatile market. Why gamble when you had a console which was almost the most successful ever?

There's been a bit of discussion regarding the Switch 2's name. I can understand Nintendo bucking their trend of uniquely naming each console as jarring, but I also understand the notion to avoid another Wii U scenario (cont)

If you're upset because it's not fun, interesting or new, that's fair. I will say that the circus of rumours and leaks in the lead up to their announcement sucked all the fun out of it for me and I have relearned my lesson in keeping my nose out of the nonsense.

The fact is that the target audience most affected by its name are the parents who still refer to these devices as "Nintendos", "Xboxes" and "Playstations". Even an uninterested third party can distinguish the difference between 1 and 2. Better than Wii and Wii U at least.
