On Day 1, we opened with inspiring voices from @dstigovza, #Astrolab & @Astro4Dev. Now the programme is in full swing: students are building hands-on research skills using remote telescopes.

[WATCH] President Cyril Ramaphosa says they have made a mistake by not utilising the scientists at the CSIR effectively. He says he wants to see that changing from today so that they are put to good effect and their intellectual capabilities are stretched beyond their own limits.

South Africa and the @EuropeanUnion share the same values of democracy, human rights, dignity and equality.
I look forward to our South Africa-EU Summit on 13th March 2025, to consolidate our strong bilateral partnership and to discuss, regional developments as well as continental and global issues.
I also look forward to working together with the leadership of the EU in ensuring a successful #G20 in line with our chosen theme and in tackling the most pressing global challenges.

I expressed the EU’s full support to South Africa’s leadership of @g20org and its ambition to strengthen multilateral cooperation and the Pact for the Future to address the most pressing global issues.
