"I don't think I've met him."
He's heard Esther talk. Gods, she talked. . . A lot. Monologing queen.
"Well, I mean... I could. Do you need any of the stuff ?? I don't know what even she even has... had?" Wow tenses are hard.
"I'm not saying you have to leave town. But if the house is full of bad memories. Sell the magic items to Tragic Mick, and the non-magical ones and the house to humans. Take the money and move into lodgings like Crystal and Niko had. Find a job? Go to school?"
"Uh... well no? I mean, it's really all I know. Been in Port Townsend as long as I can remember. Not sure what else is there."
The kid hasn't taken geography. He really hadn't spread his wings out when he was a bird.
"Have you considered... leaving it? Finding somewhere that wouldn't remind you of her as much, and start fresh?"
Is what he says. What he thinks is also.
And go somewhere that probably doesn't have all the supplies you readily need to bring her back...
He wants to, but he knows it wouldn't be smart.
"Alone? Yeah. I usually was. Esther would go out often and it would just be me. Well, the snake, but that's dead anyway."
Well that didn't sit well, the idea that Monty was even considering that bringing Esther back was an option.
"Are you? Are you all alone here, in that house?"
he nods lowering his head. it was hard to go against Esther's demands when he was a familiar, a loyal servant to a witch.
"Wish I done more. So much one could do. I had to help, especially since it was mostly because of me."
he wasn't sure how to answer that one. "Uh... good --
Edwin raised an eyebrow but then just closed his eyes and sighed.
"No, I don't suppose you could have. Charles also told me how you helped him get free as well. How have you been then Monty now that she's gone?"

@AGENCYSBRAlNS well, I know that wasn't one of the sarcastic deductions and I'm also not your Watson. But, I still believe you're a good detective.
And yea, not a crow, physically. . . or well, I don't know if there are other ways to still be that.
