@hahaBTChaha@AnirbanDesmukh@chakravartiiin desalinating water needs a lot of thermal energy and maintenance, it's not just "find a cheaper way"
Actually the datacenters could use the ocean itself to cool down, with pipes in contact with the ocean water, but I bet that would be more expensive than a cooling tower
@hahaBTChaha@AnirbanDesmukh@chakravartiiin Desalinating it costs A LOT of power and money. They need water to evaporate it in a cooling tower, it needs to be as pure as possible.
Thermal energy plants have these cooling towers too and they use lots of water, but they purify it from a river instead of tap water.
@NombreHueco@chakravartiiin they then use purified water to get rid of the heat generated by the servers, evaporating it, because it's cheaper than using AC. That water needs to be fairly pure to avoid residue in the heat exchanger, and they often purify drinking water instead of water from a river.
@seferbamidbar@handoyo_552@clashreport Spain was constantly threatened by the USA until we stopped our nuclear program. It's not about intentions, it's that once a country has nuclear weapons, the US can't do anything to stop them from getting more. What are they going to do to stop them, nuke them?
