Congratulations to @archmission the very first recipient of an Astro Ledger Institute grant of $1000. They do great work archiving humanity’s heritage in outer space and have so much going for them in the future. You can learn more about them here https://t.co/RnoDAxWC5Z (1/3)
Modern astronomy uses computerized telescopes to discover tens of millions of new stars every year, which is several thousand new stars of every day.
That is way too many for astronomers to deal with individually, which creates a weird phenomenon: nobody looks at new stars.
@soy_eth@mooncat505 Majority were minted in 2018. We started minting NFTs for the best/brightest stars and will absolutely be adding more to the chain in order to get more stars to have names. The existing cards represent stars that are quite rare in the galaxy.

@LeonidasNFT Project from @AstroLedgerInst that in real life tries to give their NFT star names to the real stars in the galaxy and through that help to build the actual space missions and discoveries. Collect a star, name a star, help explore the universe!

@Pauly0x idiocracy truly is a documentary.
You can do something cool and purchase naming rights to a star on eth thru @AstroLedgerInst

@LeonidasNFT@AstroLedgerInst This is a project that in real life wants to give their NFT star names to the real stars in the galaxy and through that help to build the actual space missions and discoveries. Not mission impossible, but completely real. Collect a star, name a star, help explore the universe!
@incryptohub love your archeology page https://t.co/9mKats3e35 would equally love to be placed for July 2018! If we "go to the moon" we'll launch and actual mission to the moon.
@AnneClimb @IAU_org Actually even they don’t claim the “sole right” to name stars. It’s an old public/cultural activity, anyone can do it! If you want to name a star in a public transparent way that raises funds for space grants you can try https://t.co/fT1gavoBAQ!
@wfastronomer @ronnui_ Blockchain is actually a great platform for star naming for exactly this reason—full transparency on the star names as well as on the funds raised! See https://t.co/fT1gavoBAQ
