A 14-year-old boy from Bareilly helped foil a ‘digital arrest’ scam, saving his parents from cyber fraud after spotting inconsistencies the adults initially missed. The family was kept on a video call for nearly nine hours by fraudsters posing as officials from the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), who accused them of links to terror groups and involvement in a ₹300 crore fraud case.
Tanmay Saxena, a Class 7 student, grew suspicious after noticing errors in the purported officials’ conduct, including incorrect signage, an unprofessional appearance, and questionable speech. When his warnings went unheeded, he put the phone on flight mode, cutting off communication and preventing any financial loss. “These three things made me suspicious,” Tanmay said.
The following day, the family filed a complaint at Prem Nagar Police Station, where an FIR was registered. Manush Pareek confirmed that the scam attempt had been foiled, crediting the boy’s alertness for raising suspicion and averting the fraud.

Science: Hydrogen is extremely inflammable, and it leaks in small volumes from balloons. A lift has static electricity as well as electronic components. Even a tiny spark can result in an explosion.
So why do people buy them? Mostly, they don’t. They are victims of a scam. They think they are buying helium balloons, but vendors instead give hydrogen ones because hydrogen is much cheaper.
Lesson: Buy helium balloons only from reputable vendors.
I learned a new English "tense" at Wikipedia today.
"The prophetic perfect tense is a literary technique used in the Bible that describes future events that are so certain to happen that they are referred to in the past tense as if they had already happened." https://t.co/phMOeh8IxH
