As a US Citizen I’m requesting @POTUS and the @StateDept (@SecRubio @marcorubio) to Order the Venezuelan government to stop the military from obstructing the rescue efforts being carried out by the people.

Furthermore, require the Venezuelan military to deploy heavy machinery for rescue and recovery operations. According to reports from Venezuelan citizens, the military is detaining people who are trying to help and is also preventing engineers and rescue personnel from accessing the affected areas.

We want to inform you that, in Venezuela, the military is not participating in rescue operations. Neither the National Guard (GNB) nor the Army is actively assisting. On the contrary, many National Guard units are preventing heavy machinery, emergency supplies, and humanitarian aid from reaching the affected areas. They have even set up checkpoints to block access and slow the flow of traffic.

We respectfully ask that you take advantage of the current State of Internal Commotion (not Emergency) to assume control and ensure that rescue and relief efforts can proceed without obstruction.

The Venezuelan people understand that the regime cooperates with the United States on certain economic matters, but it continues to oppress ordinary Venezuelans and place unnecessary obstacles in the way of those trying to save lives.
