Happy Moon Friday! 🌕✨️
Today is Tsukimi in Japan.
Tsukimi is a traditional Japanese celebration of the autumn moon, when people enjoy what is known as the “Chūshū no Meigetsu,” one of the most beautiful moons of the year.
The moon is one of the symbols of the dropchan world, and many rabbits live there, with rabbit motifs scattered throughout the world.
There’s a reason for that 🐰💧
Across Asia, there have long been stories about rabbits living on the moon. In Japan, the patterns on the moon are often imagined as a rabbit making mochi.
And the rabbits in dropchan have another little origin too.
At a past XRP MEETUP JAPAN event, a character called “xRabbit” was created as a play on xRapid, Ripple’s former service, and ciana once designed merchandise featuring the character.
That memory is also one of the reasons why so many xRabbits now live in the world of dropchan 🌕🐰✨️
