Woozi wrote Smile Flower because of the fear of losing.
He said there are so many meaningful connections in our lives, and that we have all these wonderful relationships. He said right now, he might be very happy, things are really good. But sometimes he finds himself having vague thoughts like, “What if this doesn’t last?”
Since those thoughts occasionally come to his mind, this song is about the idea that, “Even if we can’t stay together and end up apart someday, wherever we are, may we always share smiles and laughter. May we always be happy, no matter where we are.”
He also said something similar about the fear of losing in The Chapter.
He said, “Sometimes, on one side of my mind, I think that this very scene I’m seeing could disappear overnight. I always have the anxiety of not knowing when this might disappear. It could disappear like a lie.”
He has held those feelings for so long. The whole thing in SEVENTEEN is so dear to him that fear of losing them keeps lingering like the sprinkle of glitter that sticks to the skin and is difficult to remove, even if wiped many times ❤️🩹
