Hey everyone, as some of you know Nikki and I rescued an abandoned kitty from the bushes two weeks ago and brought him into our family!
Today we took him to the cardiologist to diagnose a heart murmur and we found that Bolt has a rare complex congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot. Luckily, his two main defects are somehow balancing each other out which is the reason he is still alive (One defect is increasing the pressure in his heart, the other decreasing it!) Most cats die shortly after birth with this heart defect.
Upon looking at this red blood cell count which came back as normal (thank god), the doctor's long term prognosis is Bolt can easily live to middle age or older with proper care and frequent visits to prevent Polycythemia.
It goes without saying that caring for these conditions is very expensive and costs a lot of time; however, due to the thousands of insanely generous people who decide to support Nikki and I, we are thankfully in the position to do whatever it takes to give Bolt the absolute best life possible for however long he's with us!
We are eternally grateful for the love and support people show us, and it's times like these where we can put some of that support to good use saving an abandoned kitty who never did anything wrong.
Thank you and long live Bolt!!
My heart is so full. Our friends & family truly made this week unforgettable. We felt overwhelming love in every room we walked into. And all my brothers that grew up with me on Twitch and YouTube, your messages on Twitter and Instagram mean the world to me. We did it, gentlemen!
