“😂THE FIRST TIME I SAW 300 LEVEL MBBS MCQs, I ALMOST CALLED MY PARENTS TO COME AND WITHDRAW ME 😭💔

Nothing prepared me.

Secondary school taught me that MCQ means:

A, B, C or D.

Pick one and go home.

Medical school said,

“You poor innocent child…” 😭😂

The first question I saw was:

A. Statements 1 and 2 are true.
B. Statements 1 and 3 are true.
C. Statements 2 and 4 are true.
D. All statements are true.
E. None of the above.

I looked at the paper.

The paper looked at me.

Both of us were confused. 😭😂

Then another one came:

If statement I is true and statement II is the correct explanation, choose A.

If statement I is true but statement II is not the correct explanation, choose B.

If statement I is true and statement II is false, choose C.

If statement I is false and statement II is true, choose D.

If both are false, choose E.

Omo…

At that point I wasn’t writing an exam anymore.

I was solving a family dispute. 😭💔😂

I read it again.

Still didn’t understand.

I even turned the paper upside down as if the answer would fall out. 😂

Then came TRUE/FALSE questions.

The lecturer would write:

“The liver is the largest internal organ.”

I smiled.

“Easy. True.”

Then I looked again.

It actually said:

“The liver is the second largest internal organ in healthy adults under specific physiological conditions except otherwise stated.”

😭😭😭💔

Excuse me??

Who added all these subtitles??

Medical school doesn’t ask whether you know.

It asks whether you know the exact wording. 😂

You’ll see five options:

✅ True
✅ True but incomplete
✅ False but almost true
✅ True except in rare circumstances
✅ All of the above except none of the below 😭😂

By the third question your brain starts making notification sounds.

“Low battery: 5% remaining.” 🔋😭

Then there is always that one friend.

After the exam you ask,

“Guy, how was it?”

He says,

“It was straightforward now.”

Straightforward??

Brother, were we in the same hall?? 😭😂

Another friend starts discussing answers loudly:

“For number 17 the answer was obviously C because statement II explains statement I through negative feedback involving the hypothalamus…”

Omo please…

Some of us are still trying to remember what course we just wrote. 😭💔😂

The funniest part is changing your answer.

You shade A.

You think.

You erase.

You shade C.

You think again.

You shade E.

Five minutes later you return to A.

At the end, the answer key says…

B. 😭😂💔

And don’t let the lecturer say after the exam,

“The questions were simple. They only tested understanding.”

Understanding??

Sir, the options alone were conducting viva on my destiny. 😭😂

Then results come out.

You score 48%.

You celebrate like you won the lottery because your roommate scored 32%. 😂💔

That was when I realized that 300 level is not just about intelligence.

It’s about surviving psychological warfare.

Because in medical school, sometimes the question is not asking what you know.

It’s asking whether your brain can still function after reading the options. 😭😂🩺”
