Criminal Law has always been a tool the State uses to come down harshly on people it disagrees with. Its imperative that citizens are able to fully engage in the reform of laws that affect them in such proportions. Mail your MPs now to #DisbandtheCommittee https://t.co/cVyfM1J1nE
“‘Heated Rivalry’ didn’t create Hudson Williams. It just gave the rest of the world a reason to look. [And] the world that didn’t know his name two years ago can’t seem to stop saying it.” - @Medium
“He was already making things. Writing, directing, acting in short films with friends from Langara College, (…) made purely because he couldn’t not make them. The creativity wasn’t something fame unlocked. It was already fully formed, running quietly in the background of a life that had no particular reason to go anywhere extraordinary.”
“What’s quietly remarkable about Hudson Williams is that he never had to negotiate [his] terms. The industry didn’t get to decide whether to bet on him. By the time Hollywood was paying attention, the audience had already decided — and the audience, it turned out, was enormous.”
“He became a global heartthrob and didn’t reinvent himself to match the moment. In a system that usually asks people to choose: be legible to us, or be legible to them, Hudson Williams appears to have simply declined the choice.”
“What he represents, a new kind of Asian male lead, unbeholden to any single cultural template, arrived without permission, is still unfolding.”

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s message to the court today as relayed by his attorney:
“I am a pediatrician. I provide medical care to patients, the injured, and vulnerable people in the Gaza Strip. I have carried out my work in accordance with international law and humanitarian standards. My detention is unjust and arbitrary.”
No PM has ever used a national address to openly criticise and target the opposition in this manner. PM Modi has broken this long-standing democratic norm with his address to the nation tonight. By directly attacking opposition over the Women’s Reservation Bill and likening their actions to ‘foeticide’ and being ‘anti-women’, this speech has made it evident that the BJP is willing to go to any extent to undermine healthy parliamentary conventions and constitutional traditions. It’s evident that Govt has lost its balance after the drubbing it got in the Loksabha yesterday. High time this rhetoric be stoped.. Let the Govt come forward sincerely to address the speedy implementation of Women’s reservation … and don’t meddle with the democratic-federal India .

Prominent Gaza doctor Hussam Abu Safia who has been subjected to “severe torture” and has suffered extreme weight loss and starvation in Israeli prisons.

🚨 BREAKING | Verified reports document a shocking case in central Gaza where Israeli forces detained and allegedly tortured a toddler to pressure his father during an arrest near Al-Maghazi central Gaza Strip.
The child was released hours later via the Red Cross, while his father remains detained. The case is sparking urgent calls for an international investigation into abuses against Palestinian civilians.
Palestinian journalist and author Plestia Alaqad shared a haunting video of an empty stadium, asking viewers to imagine every seat filled with a child killed in Gaza.
The video reflects the scale of Israel’s mass killing of Palestinian children, with 20,000 young lives brutally erased in the ongoing genocide.
Alaqad said the empty seats are a stark reminder that these are not statistics, but children whose lives and futures were cut short.
