A Humanitarian Tragedy in Gaza: Epidemics Strike Newborns
In a heartbreaking scene, 20-day-old infant Osama Sahloul is battling complications from chickenpox.
This is not an isolated case; the Gaza Strip is witnessing a rapid outbreak of diseases among children in displacement camps. This crisis is fueled by extreme overcrowding, the total collapse of water and sanitation services, and a critical shortage of medicines and vaccines.
Epidemics are now threatening the most vulnerable, even those who have just entered the world amidst conditions lacking the most basic necessities for survival.
