@yuyuybc4@narihanana@felix77@m_p_q_dbd We didn't judge you. We started doing that after a bunch of koreans got piss after the girl's comment. And then, of course things escalated for both sides.
@narihanana@yuyuybc4@felix77@m_p_q_dbd No, because this is a case of culture perception. In the same way you can understand your social norms. We can understand our social norms.
@PaolSaint@AnaliseGeopol Eu sei HAHAH. Uma coisa surreal é como isso foi feito só agora, sendo que faria mais sentido ter para Europa (devido à proximidade geográfica em sentido de distancia) do que para os EUA.
@yuyuybc4@felix77@m_p_q_dbd The concept of fair skin for Asians. As you probably don't know anything about Brazil or South America, most people here don't know anything about Japan or Asia in general aside from TikTok, Instagram, Animes, mangas, k-dramas, kpop or any "trend" thing.
@yuyuybc4@felix77@m_p_q_dbd As I mentioned before, you can argue that the person didn't pick the right word (well, here most people communicate in more or less this way, and in most cases it is not a big deal outside of the internet). Plus, this claim you hear is what I explained before. They don't know +
@yuyuybc4@felix77@m_p_q_dbd Plus, the girl in the beginning was not trying to be bad; she was genuinely trying to compliment the football player. Yes, you can argue that she came up as xenophobic or didn't know the right words. But acting as if people should know your culture and what to say or not is naive
@yuyuybc4@felix77@m_p_q_dbd If you keep saying "white", nobody in Brazil will understand that you are talking about fair skin (they don't even know what fair skin is, because it is not a concept we have), but instead they will associate this with white.
@a1_txn@oxente_danbbmp@_salty_salt__ Also, your concept of fair skin will never be understood by us. I know it because I've been studying Asia for years at an academic level. But I know, most Brazilians don't. As I also understand, you guys won't ever understand our concept of hope and "Brazilian way"
@a1_txn@oxente_danbbmp@_salty_salt__ Look, although I understand the way she put it sounds xenophobic, her intention was not that. Why? Because in Brazil, we never call out people saying things "I wish this person could love herself more". We usually straight-up say the bad things. We don't beat around the bush.
