Tonight, despite our massive wind capacity, the turbines are generating only 5% of our electricity needs. Gas is providing 46% and nuclear 18%. Of course there are plenty of times when wind provides much more. But on a coldish night like tonight when it’s only 5%, if we had no gas or nukes, where would the power come from?
