Regarding the ‘I-ting’ issue that Luvies and DIVES are arguing about right now, regardless of what happens, I’ll still be tuning in for Irene’s solo. I’ll be listening to the full album, appreciating the music, and supporting her in every way I can.
At the same time, I’m not going to dismiss what DIVES are feeling. If something feels sentimental or meaningful to their fandom, then they have every right to feel protective or emotional about it. Fandoms are built on attachment and memories, so it’s completely valid for people to express how they feel. Respect goes both ways, and everyone is entitled to their own emotions and perspectives.
What I absolutely refuse to do, however, is participate in or tolerate the personal attacks coming from either side. Disagreements between fandoms are one thing, but reducing it to insults against the artists themselves is unacceptable. Dragging the very people you claim to support, or attacking others’ artists just to win a fanwar, is honestly low and immature. What’s even worse is seeing some DIVES and Luvies (even moots) enable that behavior as if it’s normal or justified. It isn’t.
I’m also not going to jump to conclusions. I won’t speculate about whose idea Irene’s I-ting is, nor will I assume that IVE themselves feel negatively about it. Fans often project emotions onto artists that may not even reflect reality. Until there is a statement or clarification from the people actually involved, I’d rather wait and see how both camps address the situation.
At the end of the day, this should never overshadow the artists themselves. Irene’s music deserves to be enjoyed, and IVE’s fans deserve the space to feel how they feel without being mocked for it. Supporting your artist doesn’t have to come at the expense of tearing someone else down.
Irene is confirmed to release her first full album at the end of March!
“After 1 year and 4 months, fans’ anticipation is growing for Irene’s full-length album, which will return in an even richer form [after Like A Flower]. In particular, since the release timing is close to Irene’s birthday, it is expected to be a big gift for her fans.”
