The state pension is inadequate and needs to grow quicker than inflation if it is ever to provide enough in retirement. There are many areas of government spending where savings should be made but the political will is lacking https://t.co/qWscBUqPnE
At a time when growth is essential the NHS (envy of the world) is imposing minimum wait times for operations delaying the return to economic peak of patients and of course extending pain and suffering https://t.co/h5c6JRHfeE
@TomTugendhat@greendrive1246 Specifically there should be a priority order of spending broadly
1)Defence - something the older generation of Labour MPs understood having lived through war
2) Food / Energy security
3) Health
4) Welfare support
All of this of requires a healthy economy not over taxed to fund 4
@benjaminbutter@AlanJLSmith You really can be an utter buffoon. When real incomes have diminished and you embarked on a course of family sacrifice for the betterment of your children actions that deliberately harm those family finances have consequences. Let them eat cake is not the answer you thought
@PolitlcsUK Waiting for @JohnHealey_MP to resign as it can’t have been a decision by a government in which he is chancellor and is in overall charge of spending that he supports……..
