Quanta Computer put in $20 million. Collins Aerospace moved a program into initial production. Amazon is testing the hardware.
All three run on waveguides Vuzix designs and makes on its own lines in Rochester, NY. In August it started shipping that same glass to partners working on AI data center optics.

@DeItaone The beef line is the whole story. USDA counted 86.2 million head on January 1, and just 27.6 million of those are beef cows, down another 1 percent. That is one cow for every twelve Americans. The Dollar Menu is not coming back.
Amazon. Collins Aerospace. Quanta Computer. One Nasdaq company is tied to all three: Vuzix $VUZI.
- Quanta Computer has invested $20 million
- A Collins Aerospace program is in initial production
- Amazon is live-testing its next-gen Ultralite Pro glasses
In August, Vuzix began shipping Causeway samples for AI data centers. TrendForce projects the co-packaged and near-packaged optics market will grow from about $100 million in 2025 to over $39 billion by 2030.

Vuzix (Nasdaq: $VUZI) is expanding enterprise smart glasses distribution across Australia, New Zealand and selected Pacific markets through a new agreement with @CommsPlusD.
The partnership includes an initial six-figure smart glasses order that has been received and shipped, with applications spanning mining, logistics, healthcare, utilities, field services and manufacturing.

@elonmusk Copyright Office, January 2025: 'prompts alone do not provide sufficient human control' for you to count as the author. So it is beautiful, it is well lit, and it is public domain the second it renders. A studio with no library. Good luck with the licensing deck.
@StockMKTNewz That line is a four sentence aside. The speech is titled A Long-Term View on the Costs of Shelter, and its actual number is the Atlanta Fed affordability index at 68 in July, the lowest in 21 years. Below 100 means a median income family cannot buy a median priced home.
@unusual_whales There is a federal diesel reserve. DOE's Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve holds one million barrels across four sites, 200,780 of it in Boston. Exports ran 1.477 million barrels a day in June, per EIA. The whole reserve is about sixteen hours of that flow.
@DeItaone EIA's chokepoint analysis has the scale. Hormuz moved 20.9 million barrels a day in the first half of last year, about a fifth of world petroleum consumption. Bypass pipeline capacity, Saudi East-West plus Abu Dhabi, is about 4.7 million. The other 16 has nowhere to go.
THE QUIET PART No. 005
US manufacturing PMI hit 57.0 in September, a 52-month high.
15% of that number is suppliers' delivery times, inverted, so slower deliveries raise it. The same release says they lengthened the most since July 2022.
All five components helped.
@zerohedge The same release says what pushed it. Suppliers' delivery times are 15% of the headline manufacturing PMI, inverted, so slower deliveries raise it. They lengthened the most since July 2022, which is also why input costs rose at their steepest rate in four years.
@KobeissiLetter USGS has the plumbing: two primary copper smelters in the entire United States, two refineries, and 57 percent of consumption imported. Twenty six mines, eight states, two smelters. The price can go wherever it likes. The smelter count is still two.
@JavierBlas A diesel export control is already on the books. 15 CFR 754.3 requires a license for listed non-crude products, distillate included, but only barrels derived from the Naval Petroleum Reserves. DOE sold Elk Hills in 1998, Teapot Dome in 2015. The rule outlived the fields.
@staunovo DOE's own inventory page, as of September 18: 284.6 million barrels in the SPR against 714 of authorized capacity. So a 172 million barrel program is about 60 percent of what is actually down there. The reserve is 40 percent full and lending.
THE QUIET PART No. 004
Household money market fund shares hit a record in Q2, up 66.1 billion.
In the same release, the Fed's household deposits line, which includes money market funds, fell 0.1 trillion.
Cash moved. It did not grow.
@KobeissiLetter That figure comes from the Fed's Z.1, which counts money market fund shares inside deposits. In the same quarter that household line fell 0.1 trillion, while directly and indirectly held equity rose 10.7 trillion. Cash moved between buckets. It did not grow.
@elonmusk@bot NHTSA's 2013 guidelines budget 12 seconds of eyes off the road per task and recommend locking out on-screen message reading entirely. They only cover screens and thumbs. So the compliant way to read email at 70 is to have a robot read it to you.
@elonmusk Ten trillion has a benchmark. PwC put the whole global telecom industry at 1.1 trillion in 2023, so the model needs nine of those at 27 launches a day. And a hundred dollars a month from all 8.2 billion of us. Hope the babies have good credit.
@TrungTPhan The filings add a step. October 15, 2015, one year after she took over: 85 percent of AMD's Penang and Suzhou assembly and test plants, sold to Nantong Fujitsu for 371 million dollars. The trillion started with a garage sale.
@paulg The Times 10-K, filed in February, gave this nine words, tucked inside a sentence about cookies and ad targeting: "a decrease in referral traffic from generative AI products." No figure attached. A 28 percent collapse, disclosed as a subordinate clause.
@unusual_whales Gold's record high was 5,589.38 on January 28 of this year. Bernstein's 2030 target is 5,600. That is ten dollars and change over four years. Somebody built a model to forecast flat.
