2/2 @AtmoCT_Carrie moves to a EUTOPIA/SIF postdoc fellowship under EU's Horizon 2020/Marie Sklodowska-Curie based at @UniversiteCergy ,not far from our French team, and will continue writing with us as honorary staff of @GeogBham . We wish you all the best in you new job, Carrie!
This month, @AtmoCT_Carrie concludes her journey as a working member of the @AtmoCT team. Her knowledge, research skill, professionalism and initiative made an enormous difference to what we have been able to achieve in the past year. We are extremely lucky to have had her 1/2
Congratulations to @AtmoCT_Sam for securing funding via @RGS_IBG Small Grant to conduct, together with @KathaCiax , interviews within EU institutions in Brussels next Autumn.
We look forward to our 3rd international team meeting in 🌊Plymouth🌊in June, hosted by @AtmoCT_Sam and @psimpy . We'll start data analysis of our international survey of 15000 respondents + hear updates from qualitative research so far involving 4 different fieldwork techniques.
Back from an intensive week of #fieldwork research (observations, walk-alongs and interviews) in Berlin with the fellow researchers of the @AtmoCT. Amazing experience, rich data and great team work! @AtmoCT_Sam@AtmoCT_Carrie @KathaCiax can't wait to meet again!
It's been a whirlwind month of observing trade/security expos, Berlin site visits, and project meetings, and I'm looking forward to some research time in Birmingham at last! Although I'll definitely miss the group fieldwork working with @AtmoCT_Sam @KathaCiax @ADrongiti
Καλά! No longer confined to boxes on Zoom, the four research fellows have just said goodbye after an intensive but extraordinary week of fieldwork in Berlin. Our first time all together in person!
@SaraFregonese Of course, the idea that everyone from a place is equally equipped to study that place, will study with similar perspectives, is also wrong. I say as someone who grew up in a place that's very segregated and has a similar 'studying the natives' history of sociological research
A road closure in Plymouth is forcing pedestrians to take a 15-minute detour down unlit roads, which women say puts their safety at risk. Student Esme says this is unacceptable, as the city continues to wrestle with the issue of violence against women and girls.
If we can't go to Jena, Jena comes to us. Vielen Dank an @KathaCiax and Simon Runkel for a creatively organised, discussion-rich (& playful) workshop that included fieldwork reports, research positionality reflections, reading discussions, and writing. Nächster Halt - Plymouth!
In the recent outpouring of experiences on violence against women in Plymouth, an issue that came up time and time again is the poor lighting in our city’s parks.
Women want action now - please sign my petition to improve park lighting: https://t.co/A0jiKRuKEG.
