An incredible reunion! Two decades ago, a young Mesfin flew from Ethiopia to the U.S. for life-saving heart surgery, not once but twice, thanks to Dr. Jim Kauten at @PiedmontHealth Atlanta Hospital. Fast forward to today, Mesfin, now a skilled perfusionist at @MayoClinic, is working alongside Dr. Kauten in the OR for the very first time on our second cardiac mission trip to Ethiopia. From patient to colleague on a life-saving cardiac mission! Their journey is a testament to the power of medical care, human connection, and giving back.
