You have to ask yourself why Adam Silver would allow an owner as cheap, uncommitted, and detrimental to the league to purchase a team.
Tom Dundon is bullying long time Blazers staff, coaches, and the city cause he doesn’t want to use his own billions to build a stadium.
@JerseyMikeback The entire bare bones of a rebuild, no matter who is the General Manager, require years to get it right.
Marks didn't buy himself any more time than it would be for this rebuild to succeed or fail.
People are misreading this cause J is anti-Marks, but is is right about how some Nets fans were expecting big moves based on the fact the Nets weren't going to tank this upcoming season.
However, Marks has always preached patience, making moves that don't harm development, and striking at the right time - the same things people are pivoting towards.
LOUDER🗣️
Nyets fans spent months talking about us signing/trading for Duren, AR15, Cason Wallace, J Dub, Paolo, Franz Vagner, Mobley, that bitch from Milwaukee, I Hart, Kawhi, Zion, Sabonis, among others… Now the 180s are talking about being patient, flexibility & development😭
They bring him up because it is not some secret of how negative you are towards Marks thus they view your point as another attack. I was saying that you are right about what the fans had said.
I am also pro-winning and I support Marks cause his tenure is not just as simple as W-L records
Fam, people are “misreading” this cause I never mentioned the loser GM. Why did anyone bring him up? He has preached and lied about many things, size & Brooklyn grit being the main two. I’m anti-him because I’m pro-winning, and his record isn’t something that we can debate…
I hear you, but the man said it himself that he was going to be patient.
Marks wasn't going to use the pieces just to use them, or use them to hinder Egor and now MBJ.
I’ve been pretty positive to this point about the off-season but it is pretty disappointing that the Brooklyn Nets didn’t add any pieces for the future via free agency or trade
@brooklynsbeat They *tried* to make it loud, but it is not going to get louder than long time people being fired.
For example, cannot think of baseball on ESPN without Ravech. Now we can.
The Trail Blazers & the city of Portland are reportedly “very far apart” on a new lease deal, per @jwquick
The Blazer have reportedly been examining recent arena deals in Oklahoma City & Utah.
The question for EVERY NET FAN isn’t if Pod Thorn is an asshole.
question for Nets fans is, don’t you deserve a GM as good as Presti?
Nets play in the biggest market, shouldn’t you have one of those guys?
How do you win (which should be what we all want) w/o a comparable GM?
Jaylen Brown says long-time NBA players should receive equity in the franchises they help build
“If you work for Apple or Nike, and you’re a CEO or you’ve been there a long time, you get equity in the company.”
“I think athletes should be looked at the same way.”
“If you play for the Celtics for 20 years, you should get a piece of equity.”
“You helped create that growth.”
“That’s the part that gets lost in translation.”
“You get compensated for doing your job.”
“But you don’t get compensated for the growth.”
“In major corporations, you do.”
“That’s something I’ve proposed.”
“We’ve got another CBA coming up, so we’ll see.”
All that disgust over a team winning over a walk off. You should focus that disgust over something to be disgusted about...like a certain team blowing a 7-0 lead and losing in extras.
Imagine Sean Marks having a guy on the team making 17 mil next season, then 18 mil for three more years.
Guy doesn't average 10 boards nor points and he is considered injury prone.
Would ya'll praise the guy or would there be *days* of how dumb Sean is?
That's how "rim protector" is fucking with people's minds
You can sense the flexibility jokes from a mile away by the same people who would praise Marks for making good moves because of said flexibility.
The man is staying the course. Good on him.
Sean Marks on whether the Nets will make more moves this summer:
“Something we've always prided ourselves on with how we've built is not using up all our flexibility... I like the roster we have.... I don't think we're in any immediate rush to do anything and add more pieces.”
