Yes, losing a parent is hard, and it can feel traumatic, and the grief and pain is real. But grief from natural loss is not comparable to trauma from years of abuse

You don’t know the specifics of that relationship, and in MANY cases the victim was deliberately kept from speaking out. The only thing it says about a person is they survived. It’s not something to judge.
