@HSmythe10 @mattgurney Non-nuclear subs aren't going to be operating under ice in any serious way, so it's a moot point. AIP propulsion systems will usually give a sub <6 knots of speed and an endurance of a few days before surfacing. They'll at most be able to operate near the edge of the ice pack.

@catgirlprostate There's also trace uranium in coal, and more uranium is actually emitted by burning coal to generate power than used in generating a comparable amount of energy with nuclear fission. So there you go: don't bury the waste, just grind it into a fine powder and spray it everywhere.

@jengerson I think a more apt comparison would be separatists and guys who get divorced in a mid-life crisis. They imagine life will be so much easier, all the cool stuff he'll get to do, and the hot chicks he can date. Reality is a sad apartment watching golf alone on TV.
