Teachers shape minds, inspire generations, and build the future of a nation.
Yet, in Bangladesh, the very educators who dedicate their lives to teaching are facing injustice, humiliation, and insecurity.
On Teachers’ Day, we honor their contribution and stand in solidarity with every teacher demanding dignity, respect, and justice.
Happy Teachers’ Day.

So, who are the real thugs now?
At least 10 people, including four journalists, were injured in an armed attack carried out by Chhatra Dal (Student Wing of @bdbnp78) activists at Rajshahi University.
According to eyewitnesses, around 8:00 p.m., Chhatra Dal activists arrived in a procession in front of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall. Some of them were carrying various locally made weapons, including machetes, cleavers, hockey sticks, metal pipes, and baseball bats. When journalists present at the scene began recording the incident, at least 10 Chhatra Dal activists, led by Ahsan Habib, vice president of the university unit Chhatra Dal, launched a surprise attack on the journalists and attempted to snatch their mobile phones.
After learning of the attack on the journalists, other journalists went to the scene, where they too were beaten indiscriminately and threatened with death.
The irony is that the very people who banned @albd1971’s student wing on false allegations of thuggery are now presiding over this kind of violence. @CPJAsia@RSF_inter@RSF_en

An year ago, Tulsi Gabbard pointed out sustained atrocities on Hindus and other minorities in #Bangladesh. Rape, killing, forced conversion, land grab and administrative bias and cultural onslaught are normal here.
It was always anti-#Hindu. Persecution of minorities was normalised throughout its existence. All parties were historically responsible for atrocities on Hindus.
But, the last two years were horrible. The arrival of #BNP which was accused of the 2001 riot, didn't help.
Wahabi Islamists are on rampage, unleashing attacks even on minority Muslim sects. Hindus are subjected to unprecedented terror.

You Can’t Take the Metro Without Trousers—and Apparently You Can’t Board a Plane Without Being Married!
Athlete trainer Sajjad Hossain was trying to enter Farmgate Metro Station after completing training in Ramna. Apparently, his clothing was deemed “indecent.” An official from the metro authority itself reportedly said that there is no dress code. Yet Sajjad was made to stand there for 40 minutes, while a police officer lectured him on his own definition of decency, saying, “It is my responsibility to see this.”
Meanwhile, three adult women had valid passports, visas and flight tickets. They were still prevented from boarding a flight to Nepal simply because they were unmarried. In the end, the High Court had to issue a rule in the matter.
The BNP is now in charge of policymaking, while Jamaat is a partner in parliament. Whose rules are governing this moral policing? There is no written law, yet someone wearing a state uniform is deciding what citizens can wear and where they can go.
For those who witnessed the BNP-Jamaat coalition government’s rule from 2001 to 2006, the tone of these orders should hardly sound unfamiliar. That same alliance is once again in power—and once again, the state apparatus appears to be deciding just how “decent” its citizens are allowed to be.

Explosive admission from a BNP leader: 🔥
“I want to see Sheikh Hasina back in power to save the country!”
What Is the Priority?
Bangladesh continues to face serious concerns over crime, political violence, mob attacks and public safety.
The numbers are stark. Citizens are facing murder, violence against women and children, political clashes, mob justice and attacks on journalists.
So the question must be asked clearly:
What comes first—protecting people or pursuing political confrontation?
The government’s responsibility is not to one party or one political camp. It is to every citizen.
Protect the people. Enforce the law. Stop mob justice. Ensure due process.
Make public safety the priority—not political revenge.

📷 According to a DW Bangla report, 93% of government jobs are now filled based on merit, with no quota for women. Women’s share among new recruits has fallen from up to 35% to 19%.
The change could mean fewer women entering government service in the future, potentially reducing women’s representation in public-sector jobs and decision-making roles in Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi Hindu businessman Khokon Das was burned alive by Islamists for not paying jizya, leaving his widow and young child at their mercy.
Hindus must either convert or pay jizya for their continued existence. Refusal is treated as defiance that justifies being burned alive.
