@VMI1538184 Trading Wallstedt would be a big mistake especially after his insane playoff run and I think Quinn resigns here regardless but signing Larkin could help with keeping Quinn here longterm. Detroit have some good up and coming goalies so they probably don't want Wally...or so I hope
Quinn views Dylan Larkin as a big brother and mentor. If we can somehow trade for Larkin I am 100% positive Quinn will stay with Minnesota for AT LEAST 3 years...Getting Larkin may also be a step closer to getting the Hughes Brothers together since Jack loves him too.
Hearing #mnwild pending unrestricted free agent Marcus Johansson, coming off a real solid season, has signed a contract to return to Sweden and play back with Farjestad
@sjsopm Ohh 100%. I was adamant QH was leaving to go to NJ in UFA but he genuinely looks to be enjoying it in Minnesota...plus we are one or two pieces away from being a cup contender so going to NJ would be foolhardy. But if he wants to play with his brothers, he'll leave regardless
@stagooch68 I mean that was kind of JR's fault for opening his mouth in the first place and the media running with the 'wanting to play with his brothers' drama...Can understand why you're over it but it would have never been an issue if management rebuilt around him in the first place
@stagooch68 Aren't you bored yet? it's the off season and we are all speculating to pass time. Maybe it's time to get over Quinn? At least he gave you some good assets to help start your rebuild instead of walking in UFA.
@PuddleJump12 Agree to disagree. Larkin is a really good player and ticks all of the boxes for Minnesota: a decent 1C, a 60-70 point player, consistently scores. My only concern is that he has only played 2 full seasons...Him being good friends with Quinn is just an added bonus.
Did you know Quinn was also inspired to attend the University of Michigan after watching fellow U.S. National Team Development Program alumni Dylan Larkin (and Zach Werenski) play for the Wolverines.
Come on Guerin, make it happen!
It's been over a month but I'm still thinking about Quinn and Fabers insane defensive play that helped ensure Dallas didn't get the lead early in the 2nd period during Game 5. They are one of the top defense pairs in the NHL for a reason but wow...even now it's beautiful to watch
Quinn is one of the best when it comes to puck possession and breakouts. His way of getting the puck out of the defensive zone and up the ice is top tier and so often I'm left wondering how he manages to evade the other teams forecheckers.
I'm so glad Minnesota Wild have him!
Wild Stanley Cup Checklist with @JoeSmithNHL
Minnesota has an elite core, but needs some speed and skill in the supporting cast to really take advantage of this window.
